I've got a question!
right in the new 6th edition codex it has 2 pages on the lance formation saying that on the charge all the riders in the front rank and those on the edges get to attack (as the unit basical smashes in to the middle of the unit it has charged) ......... so in the second turn of does it have all the attacks (front and edge) as it is still in the iddle of the enemy unit or does it have on the front rank attacks
help would be appricated as the army book does not mention the second turn of close combat only the charge section
Well this probably should have been in rules but meh..
So the lance, nasty thing that. But to answer your question, no only the front rank attacks in following turns. This is why it's important to charge, otherwise three knights won't be causing that much damage to break the enemy. But 5+ will
Im not sure if you can expand your frontage, can you?
The reason the 'lance' doesn't work in consecutive rounds of combat is because lances aren't used in connsecutive rounds of combat! Only when you charge.
