im new to bretonnia and was wondering what some good combo's would be against dwarfs?
. . . . . if any 1 could come up with a good army list fo fighting dwarfs it would be greatly appreciated
thanks in advance
Dwaves ae known for good armour and Toughness, so any weapons with a Str or wounding bonus would be a good start (BS or carcasonne, lance)
They are also pretty good at dishing out damage, if your thinking of luiging into challenges, look at the Gromril Great Helm.
For the army generally, you need no antimagic, and magic offense will be easily negated, so dont bother with any damsels. Possibly a Lord, BSB and 2 paladins at 2K and you should be fine.
Look at doing an RAF army, especially if youll be facing Dwarven Gunlines. And if the Dwarf player yells cheese... slap him Gunlines are far worse generally, just their guns find mass Pegasi quite hard to deal with.
deciever make it so i can message u please and thanks anyway!!
Can you not PM me?? hmm not sure whats wrong if you cant, ill have a look. Get on to LOchat, im on there if im online.
It really depends on what the dwarf player brings to battle, if he uses a gunline then indeed pagasi are the counter... though some magic can bring their fire rate down quickly (howlingwind, rain etc). And no one expects brets to go heavy on magic so I dont think it will be that hard to use your magic effectively if you go for it. :party2:
I would really recommend knight errants with erranty banner which means they will hit at str 6 for a really cheap price. If you're facing a dwarven closecombat force, it will probably stick together closely, you can use M@A to lure them out.
I think if your facing a balanced dwarf army the hardest thing you will have to fight are stubborn troops so watch out for these guys. If bretonnians can't break the dwarfs in the first combat round you will be in trouble.
But in overall I think the brets have the upperhand since you can choose where the fight begins! Ofcourse this depends on how skilled you opponent will be .
Whenfacing Dawrfs I Put A Palidin On A Errant Knight Unit With Lance Of Artorus And Virtue Of The Joust Killing Blow For Me Helps.
Normally I Pick Virtues That Work Against My Opppent And The Then Boost The Virtues With Gear.others Vice Versa

Make sure and check the army list section. In general, asking for people to provide army lists contravenes forum polity, and most members ignore those requests.
Members do not ignore, on the other hand, requests for build ideas, like asking about combinations as you did.
Anyhow, just for future reference. Thanks.
Are you playing for VP? If you are then bretonnians shouldnt have a problem at all. you'll contend your corners and he'll contend his, but he'll never make it to yours without miners and you should keep a unit or two of knights in reserve to handle them quickly. Other than that you probably want to make several units that aren't outwardly more appealing than the other I think your best bet to win here is banner of defense on your lead unit. Just remember to pick on units that aren't stubborn to try and win contention.
