Alright, so I'm new to the 'Tonians and really have no experience using heavy cavalry (not much of that in a Beasts of Chaos force) anyway, I just have a quick question before I get started in earnest with my army.
I know fairly well how to deal with orcs and goblins; one or two lvl 2 damsels with dispel scrolls in units of men at arms, a sturdy unit of Grail reliqaue and a powerful knights charge before the peasants swarm forward.
Roughly the same with Dwarves, just add some pegasus knights to deal with siege engines, and out-shoot them with a lot of archers.
I could be horribly wrong on these two, but it seems to me that masses of hobgoblins and a unit of chaos dwarf warriors with a banner of slavery could really cause problems. Does anyone have any tips to beat Chaos Midgets?
Asking for suggestions without knowing what you're planning on doing is like asking a blind man what color shirt matches your eyes.
I own both a CD army and a Bret army. Trust me lances of 9 will get to their flank and clean them up. Multiple small units is a good way to go. This will help minimize the effectiveness of both the ranked goblin units and the dangerous "Earthshaker" cannon. NEVER put more than 1 small unit of yoman infront of the Blunder busses. Your light calvalry are exellent for the anti-blunderbuss role. Give them Light armor and sheilds for surviveabilty and use units of 7 to charge the front rank of the blunder busses while the knights flank. A unit of 30 skirmishing pesant bowmen will out range any shooting infantry this army has. 1 or two tribuchets will also serve you well. Don't use powerfull heros or Large units. Do use pegusus knights to kill the cannons. Consentrate on flanking and not absorbing a lot of artillry and blunder busses. leave thieir lord for last and secure table quarters with two units of 10 men-at-arms. The Brets will dominate the honorless projectile useing cowards!
The above post is pretty good, so i dont have that much to add. Just wanted to say that the one time i dd face CDs with my Brets, i just ran my All Cav list straight at them. They didnt last too long.
One question though, a little off topic. Why do you bother with Lv2 Damsels for an antimagic role?? The points will be far better spent elsewhere.
