    Duelist Lord Config

Would you help me choose a duelist lord config.

    Lord:
    -Barded mount
    -Grail Vow
    -Lance
    -Virtue of Confidence
    -Mantle of Damsel Elena
    -Gauntlet of the Duel

with one of the two weapon/armor combos...

    1)
    -Armor of Agiluf
    -Sword of Might

    or

    2)
    -Enchanted Shield
    -Birthsword of Carcassonne

    Pros
    1)
-Hits enemies on 3+ 99% of the time
-Noncharacters will mostly hit him on 5+ (fewer saves)
-Characters will hit him on 4+ usually
    2)
    -Better armor (1+ vs 2+)
    -Enemy must reroll armor saves

    Cons
    1)
-"Only a 2+ save" (often subject to modifiers)
    2)
-Does nothing about the lord's average WS compared to other lords meaning he takes more wounds and nay have to roll higher to hit.

Now I leave it up to you fine paladins and damsels to help me with this quandary. Which of the two options above do you think is better and why? Also, are there good alternatives? The Mantle could go, but it seems there are is a lot of killing blow these days.

My config is something like this:

    Gromil Great Helm
    Birth-Sword of Carcasonne
    Virtue of Confidence
    Grail Vow

You re-roll hits and wounds and failed saves, and they re-roll passed saves at minus two. Granted, they can refuse challenges, but you can keep issuing one until one is fought.

I think id go with something similar to Takaetun, though the Mantle is nice too in order to avoid KB.

I often run the duelist lord for my Bretonnian army, he looks something like this:

Ser Lionel d’Rennard, Black Fox of the Vaults
    -Grail Vow
    -Virtue of Confidence
    -Sword of the Lady’s Champion
    -Armor of Agilulf
    -Gauntlet of the Duel
    -Barded Warhorse

I usually switch the Sword of the Lady's champion with the Birth Sword depending on who I'm going up against, the Birth Sword will usually be enough to deal with other characters.

Between the two layouts you have, I think the first one will work better overall. It gives you a higher weapon skill. My personal suggestion would be to drop the mantle and take the Armor of Agilulf and the Birth Sword. If nothing else you'll always have your ward save verse killing blow, not the best defense, but killing blow isn't common enough to warrant the item against most foes.
My enemy's enemy is a problem for later. In the meantime, they might be useful.

I do like this config. You have enough points to add the gauntlet.

Your config is also valid. I'll likely give both a try.

Since a lord has a WS of 6 he will never need a 5 to hit another character. The worst he would ever need to hit is a 4 and if you look at it based off statistics he will be getting 3 out of the 4 hits with those re-rolls.
For the Lady of the Lake!!!
