Don't remember where I saw the rumor maybe Warseer but Bretonnia is one of the next ones due for release. Now I've been dreaming and I want people to tell me if there is any chance of my dream coming true.
Keep all of Bretonnias mega calvary but add in some Teutonic Knights from Age of Empires II. That would honestly make my day. I love Bretonnia but got away from them when I have no high point infantry that I can use as a break.
Just curious Thanks!!!

Combining all rumours I heard I expect Bretonnia end of 2010.
From Bell of Lost Souls there was a rumour that 2010 will be the WHFB year.
With 2010 Q1 and Q2 a release of an army. These will be Tomb Kings and Beast of Chaos (I can't remember the order).
2010 Q3 massive campaign
2010 Q4 army release. Now Considering all armies that have been revised this only leaves: Bretonnia, Wood Elves, Ogre Kingdoms and possibly (not likely) Dogs of War or Chaos Dwarfs. From these I would say Bretonnia has a very decent chance of being the Q4 release.
But then again, they are just rumours. So don't get your hopes up to high.
I wouldn't get your hopes up too much. Our book is currently still pretty good, where as given what CmdrWrein has just said I would guess that Ogre Kingdoms would be the most needy of those three, currently really needing an up date. However giving GWs love of doing things in a slightly illogical fashon it could still be us.
I really want this rumor to be true but I also have doubts, also want my O&Gs to be updated but that will be a while.
My problem with the Brets is that they have so few choices. I love calvary but when I have to take 6 groups of them with a group of 10 archers and thats it just kinda limits my possibilities.
They need and unhorsed Knight that is essentially a Dwarf Ironbreaker. High armour save 3+ with decent killing power.
Keep all those amazing calvary, but give us a couple more fast calvary options also bundle it like the Chaos Marauder horsemen are so Im not spending $50 for 5 Yeomen. (garbage)
Also I would like to see some warrior monks (flagellents style?)
But most of all give me some Unhorsed Knights please!

I guess that BretLord is right with the fact that Ogre Kingdoms need it the most. But I really disliked the army since it was released (no specific reason, just felt bad). But I would love to see dogs of war back as a proper army.
And I don't think we will get unhorsed knights anytime soon. This is rather against bretonnian fluff in which honour and horse are everything to a knight. And your flagellant like unit we have in the form of the grail reliquary. Actually I don't know what they want to add. Giving the bretonnian fluff I'm not really misssing anything. Maybe a peasant hero.
That's a problem i see too is that there isn't really anything they could add. I would like knights with crossbows but that will NEVER happen though i could see some foot knights as in the book Knight Errant when they are defending the hill against the beastmen 7 (I think it's 7) knights lead the peasants on foot. So there could be a Knight upgrade to peasants maybe where one leads them giving them more courage, better fighting etc. They could maybe make it so that you could pick a family for your unit of knights to be from which would give them some sort of bonus, say your knights are from Dukedom A. this means they have a higher blessing of the lady save. I use that as an example because i don't remember the specialties of each dukedom but the powers gained would have something to do with their fluff.
The other thing with foot knights is quite simply a game mechanics thing. Heavy infantry is the biggest thing missing from the bretonnian list, and every army should have strengths and weaknesses. It just doesn't seem right to have really cheap mounted knights, and have access to heavy foot troops as well. I know we have other weaknesses too, but we can actually field pretty good horde lists with lots of shooting and magic and cheap infantry blocks, really heavy knight lists which are fast and hard hitting.
It doesn't mean they won't do it. Having Foot knights gives us some new models that they would get to make and sell. Our character options are limited, but the only other options I can think of is a peasant hero, but there would be restrictions, like if the army includes any knightly characters he cannot be the general, and he basically wouldn't be very good... it just doesn't make sense with the fluff, are most elite peasants are the yeomen, any more powerful than that would be better than some of the knights, which isn't right. Some of the varied special characters from the past were really interesting. I like the idea of a jester class of hero, which wouldn't be great in combat but mostly gave bonuses to your own troops and penalties to the enemy. Things like a jester and a knight can enter the same challenge, and the enemy must randomise attacks on each of them. or enemy units must pass a leadership test or be forced to charge him. great baiting unit then.
I do like the idea of different themed armies based on each dukedom, but then the same thing is already done with the virtues. each virtue is supposed to represent one of the 14 grail companions, hence why there are 14 virtues.
I am not saying a new book wouldn't be nice, but I just think that our update isn't as easy for them to do or to work out what to change. Other books do need improving more than ours, but then who can ever put logic into what happens at GW
For heroes they could make it so a paladin is an extremely powerful knight, which is what they are in the fluff, possibly able to cast spells from lore of light and then another hero that is just a basic knight character.
The difference of the dukedom thing would be that every unit would be able to pick a dukedom sort of like marks of chaos instead of just heroes being the ones able to be dukedom specific.
Yes we aren't the army most in need of an update but like you said GW isn't very logically about updating army books that need it for gameplay improvements.
Mmm, Paladins being able to cast doesn't make sense in terms of the fluff. All magically gifted children in bretonnia are taken away by the fay enchantress when they are young, the boys are never seen again (this is what I like to believe the green knight is, the reason he keeps coming back from the dead is there are 100s of him!)
I did think about the idea of making them magic defensive, either giving them the magic resistance or grant them a dispell dice, but then they become a bit like warrior priests in Empire.
