Hi all I am entering a tourney soon and would like to know if the Virture of Heroism only allows u to Killing Blow Large Targets or any model?
Also does it work on a steam tank? Thanks.!!
Armies: 40k: Imperial Guard, Orks Fantasy: Skaven
unfortunatly it only allows KB against large targets, so against man sized models you just have to plow through them
Um well the Steam Tank is a large target, and only says its immune to poison, but not immune to Killing Blow so i do not see why you could not actually use killing blow against it and laugh soo hard at your opponent
Not only that, you hit the steam tank automatically. Which means on a paladin w/ VoH, you have a 50/50 chance of killing blow.

There actually is a FAQ for this very virtue to verify the steamtank can die of the killing blow.
there's so many nice virtues to pick i cannot choose >.<
Warchief Diggah o da Bloodmoon Squiggahs
The mighty bulk of a grand Imperial Steam Tank, chugging away across the firm field of battle; sunlight, steam and oil glistening off it's polished hull. The sheer presence of it bolstering the moral of the assembled Empire army, its guns speaking words of death and proving the excellence of the master smiths of Nuln. Who would dare stand before such an embodiment of modern battlefield technology and a symbol of the indomitable will of Karl Franz's armies?
From the colourful lines of the Bretonian army the knights spur across the plains to meet their enemies. The gun lines and cannons of the black powder fielding forces feel superior to their rural and outdated neighbours, surely the Lords of the western lands know they stand no chance against such powers. They fight on in their foolish desire for honour and a medieval sense of romantic heroism. They need to move forward, abandon the dead arts of martial pride and impoverished levies of peasant troops.
At the signal the fires roar and lead fills the air! *BOOM* as the cannons belch their heavy death at the tightly formed lances. Broken men and horses fall, trampled underfoot by the charge of their companions. The Steam Tank lumbers forward to deflect a group of foolhardy Knights aiming at the centre of the Empire line. With cool calculation the Master Engineer sights the approaching cavalry, he counts slowly down, waiting for them to turn aside so he may fire into their flanks. 10...9...8...7 (they keep galloping)...6...5...4 (they are speeding up) ..3...2 (they are mad!) ...1
The enchanted lance penetrates the 10 inch steel, impales the driver and cracks the main steam control valve, its magic guiding the unbreakable tip to the very heart of the man made beast.
It is withdrawn. The Knights continue towards the formations of spear-men. The entire Empire stands agog, the Steam Tank trembles, it stretches in what appears to be agonising slow motion and with a resounding *Crack* and an urgent *Hiss* the built up pressure blows the vicheal apart along its joints and seams, the crew cooked alive, springs and other mechanical devices shower the debris and a lone wooden wheel rolls out and travels half way along the lines before toppling over. Suddenly the day does not seem so clearly over....
In the last tournament I played, I use a Questing Lord on a Hyppogryph with V. Heroism as a distraction at the worst. The several tournaments I played in this passed year, I learned that if anyone can bring a 'Large Target' unit, they will. Hell cannons, Dragons, Deamon Lords, Stegadons, Hydras, and yes even steam tanks (one Empire army brings TWO).
Even if they don't bring a 'Large Target'. I still have a terror causer that can fly. Win-win situation. BTW, dominated the last tournament with this build.
That's exactly my problem with this virtue!
I like Heroism and i totally recognise the armies being stocked with large targets now, but this one is still random. If you throw a 6 you get to kill the sucka, if not, your points are spent. For its randomness this item belongs in the Orcs&Gobbo book xD.
theres quite a few virtues i wouldlove to wield, like the Virtue of confidence, or perhaps knightly temper.
If you replace it with the allmighty (extremely expensive) Heroism virtue, you lose the chance to choose any others.
Anyhow... Did you get to -killing blow- some bad stuff?

I KBed a Hell cannon and the new skaven abomination. I didn't draw the DE player with 3 LT's or the Duel Steam Tanks, but I was ready for them.
I agree, Heroism is pricey for a paladin. I only would give it to a lord. 4 attacks, 3+ AS, and 3+ Ward I'll eventually kill it. Besides, it make my opponents have to rethink their tactics with their big stuff. Just might buy me some time to get rid of his other troops.
