hey guys, quick question
is the virtue of knightly temper a good choice for a bsb? i think it would be given that he already cannot take magic weapons. any other virtues good for a bsb that i should know of?
I usually try find items that keep him alive, or stuff like Virtue of duty/battle banner.
When the BSB is in combat, he will be the prime target for enemy attacks.
Warchief Diggah o da Bloodmoon Squiggahs
I would say no. As digger has pointed out, what you really want to do is keep the bsb alive. I like gromril great helm (or insignia of the quest) and sword of might.
So it depends if you want to take a magic banner or not. The trend tends to be not to, as all the knight units you'd stick your bsb in already have the ability to carry a magic banner.
It you do plan on taking a banner, then consider virtue of purity for a boosted ward save. Else take virtue of duty to give an even larger combat res boost.
Hey silverpelt, Andre has the right of it.
I would suggest not taking a magic banner with the BSB. Instead, I would either turn him into a combat resolution machine, as suggested above, or take items to keep him alive, gromril great helm being a great option for that.
Also, keep in mind that the BSB can now take magic shields, unlike in 7th edition, so the enchanted shield would be a great choice.
Something I do just for fun is give my BSB the ruby ring from the 8E book that allows him to cast fireball. I prefer to allow my BSB to sit back and manage my masses of peasants, so this gives him something fun to do while he controls the horde.
