Hey there, knights of the realm of LO
My interests in WHFB have been weakening lately, but in the new year I want to make a new start with a new army, which will be Bretonnia. This is because it's not played a lot in my local gaming centre, and there are more players in the gaming centre who prefer a fun army over a cheesy army, but mostly to be able to paint all those miniatures for an army, without a specific color scheme. This way I can paint mini's different every day, and it won't start to bore me, I hope.
Now I've done my intro, but how am I going to build a good Brets army. Can you help me on this? I don't want the army to be cheesy, but it should certainly be competitive. Yes there are a lot of players with fun armies around, but they don't hold back either, so I need a strong army.
What choices are good and how many are good, I was thinking of two lords, one monster killer, and one unit filler general. Also 2 damsels, one with lore of beasts and one with lore of life. Would be awesome to have a dragon in the army, and lore of life can make the knights more durable. And of course a BSB.
These are the characters I want in the army, for 2500 points, but can you help me with the army list itself, and give me some tips or tactics for the army?
thanks a lot, and happy new year.
Welcome to the world of Brets!! There are a lot of 2500 point list discussions in the Bret Army list section, so you will get a lot of info there. But, my favorite troops are:
Peg Knights - They fly and hit like a ton of bricks...
Grail Knights - They don't fly, but still hit like a ton of bricks...
Grail Relequae - Will hold nearly any unit for the turns it takes to slam some knights in the flank
Trebuchets - Best stone thrower in the game. period...
And, recently, the Green Knight - He is pretty awesome, but can get wiped out, so just use him to take out the annoying units and hit them in the rear.
I painted a couple of units of knights in all different heraldry and then some cohesive colored units. It is an awesome sight on the field!!
thanks, I'll take a look at the list section.
I'm also building an armylist now.
