    Pegasus Knights help

    Hey, was wondering how about Pegasus knights, as i adore the models.

    How competative are pegasus knights in 1.25K sized games?
    What are their prefered enemies?(war machines, flank charge to assist with hordes)
    Can they take a hit, are they fragile? (as they lack numbers)

    Cheers, much appreciated

    I think there are a few LO members that use RAF (Royal Air Force) lists with LOTS of PKs. I do love them and typically take 3-4, depending on the points. At 1250, three with a musician will end up being about 14% of your total. I usually do not take a banner, but that is up to you. A musician is needed to help reform. Every unit in every army seems to work better for specific play styles and sometimes you need to find out how you like to play before using some units.

    I use the unit to get behind the enemy as quick as possible. If there are warmachines, I will take them out - usually on the first pass, as they do hit like a ton of bricks and have three wounds each. So, four PKs is like a bus of 12 knights. As far as charging larger units, they are great at the rear charge. However, you need to be careful that they do not do the following:
    1. Charge by themselves - the unit they charge should already be engaged at the front;
    2. Get charged in the rear - make sure there is not an enemy unit close-by that can smack into them;
    3. Take on too powerful a unit - they are a little more fragile than our regular knights.

    They are at Armour 3, instead of 2, so a little less armoured. But, there are not too many fliers out there that can boast that armour, so it is still pretty good. And, the pegasus attacks are better than the knights standard attack.

    Plus, I just think they are simply a beautiful model. I field lots of things that may not be the best choice, but I love the look of the unit and PKs definitely fall into the group of being one of the great Bret models.
    Which armies do I have? Holy Cow - I've got three boys, so what armies do I NOT have??
    Win/Loss Ratio? - I usually let my boys win, so frankly, it stinks...

    SWEET! much appreciated

    Peasants, they seem really crumby to me sorry guys

    How are these guys helpful in bret armies? i would assume being slow would be unhelpful, am i wrong?

    Why do people get archers? why not a trebutchet instead?

    Sorry for being very silly

    Archers are dirt cheap and can shoot 30" - what could be better! A group of them will cause some part of your enemy's army to come after them. I toss back and forth between what I am fighting on how many I take. I have a total of around 40 and you should look at your opponent's face when you target the big horde of softies (why else are they horded?) and pick up and roll 40 dice. Also, they can bring braziers for 5 points and that will put an end to regeneration, also great against the flammable fellows, etc. I always stretch mine out in two ranks of about 8 per rank and a total of 16 per unit. This way they can all shoot. You may not damage a lot, but it will make a difference. Put the stakes in front of them and chargers will usually have to go around, which will take an extra turn.

    Trebs are great and you need to bring one or two, but archers are your friends, too.

    Keep in mind that the peasants are cheap and will never do anything specatular. Howver, I will never field my army without my block of M@As, archers and grail reliquae, if points will allow. My GR has never failed to hold up an opponent until the cavalry arrives. However, I am not fond of the Mounted Yeomen - I just cannot ever get them do do much of anything.

    I've always loved pegi but in 8th my preference would go to a hero on pegasus with a wyrm lance, dragon helm and something to oyur choosing he has been fun and can take care of those litlle nasty ones or give an extra puch when facing a T3 horde
