I was wondering if anyone has tried the Errantry War List. It looks awesome and very fun to play. If I ever play an undead army I would definantly use it. Str 6 and Immune to Psycology on the charge.
What are your experiences with this list, how do you like it and do you recomend it?
-My Warrior Priest will challenge your Chaos Lord
-OK, my Chaos lord will slaughter you
-My warrior priest with Van Hortsmen's Speculum will take his 7 Str 8 attacks. You die.
-Take your model off the table, he's dead
You'd use it against undead? Why? IMO they'd be the worse to use it against, a lance relies on the charge to break their opponent. Vs undead who don't break it be piintless, yes I'd expect on the charge you'd do a fair amount of damage but in secondary turns you'd do badly.
All the undead play have to do is keep raising the unit up with IoV, then in the next combat phase you're attacking with only three knights. Maybe he won't kill any or you'll kill a few, but in the main you'd be stuck in a protracted combat where for each death you take he will do better (less of your US vs his replenishable US will mean you auto-break if you loose).
But in all I think the list way one of the better ones in all, a fluffy and fun looking list.
My brother plays errantry army, and let me tell you, don't start it un less you want to buy and paint A LOT of knights. The army is very fun to play, but is easily baited by more experienced players, it relies on peasants and lots of knights errant units, which makes it relativly low LD, if it wasn't for the grail knight champions. Believe me, these champions ROCK! The grail knights supply leadership and combat provess, you definetly need them...
I kill two dwarves in the morning, I kill two dwarves at night. I kill two dwarves in the afternoon, and then I feel allright. I kill two dwarves in time of peace, and two in time of war. I kill two dwarves before I kill two dwarves, and then I kill two more.
Goblin kroozade of revengyness: win:19 draw:10 loss:9
Erranty list does better vs undead than normal bretts, since they can get past the fear tests when charging. IMO its fun,but its not good enough to warrant real playing. Bretts worst nightmare is charging into an enemy who flees, getting themselves set up for a flank charge. Not only does the errantry list have no defense against this, but it actually HELPS the opponent do this with little or no effort. it would be good vs things like chaos or demonic legions or something i suppose, dwarves too,but against elves or beastmen or empire it would have serious problems
