Well, not really tactica...but I haven't had much time to work on my Brets (been finishing greenskins and beastmen) but has anybody tried giving their Battle Standard Bearer the Virtue of empathy and then keeping him with a unit of men at arms in the center of your army. I figure march him up with 3 or three units of men at arms. He gives his leader ship to the other units. And you can hold off a an enemy just long enough to get the charge in. Any thoughts?
I doubt it. I think its probably usual to keep him with your general in a big unit, usually with Virtue of Duty and Warbanner or Bannder of the Lady.
Warbanner+BSB+Duty = +3 Combat resolution + whatever the unit does. Nasty. Banner of the Lady is usually euqivilent to +6, as the enemy might lose +3, meaning that its even better.
Yeah I usually go for banner of the lady in a knight unit, it kicks. Plus in a peasant unit the knights will leave him behind. Unless you were going for a peasant strong army.

peasants suck. you should only use them when you need to take up core choices in a small game.
just put in a 7 man grail knights unit with you lord, the banner of the lady, and virtue of duty. you will get crazy combat res. and will punch through just about anything.
Oh man, my repeater bolt throwers (and my mages) would love this unit. All nicely arrayed in lance formation as well. :cool:Originally Posted by userpaladin

Yeah, you forgot to throw in a damsel, for one less Grail Knight that you'd have to field plus magic resist 1. I don't usually tool a unit out this much because you can only kill so many enemy units in one game with it. Plus so many points are going to those hard hitters that you don't have the points to spend on other distractions/support.
so a few boltthrowers, shoot down the yeomen shields, have one turn to shoot, i get a 4+ ward from that banner, then i charge...im sure you'l love it.
