Silver Lance vs. Annoyance of netlings?

I know a friend considering the wood elf army. I heard him cackle maniaclly when he told me about the netlings. The whole idea of getting out-dueled by a tree is embarassing. I was looking for a possible counter for such an overpowered ability (IMO). Does the lance's ability circumvent that penalty? Are we dealing with a situation where the abilities clash and you roll to see which happens or does the Silver Lance's ability bypass that ability like say fire vs regen or magic vs ethereal would?

Send me a PM with the precise wording of the Silver Lance, and I'll give my two cents.

In cases like this, it's pretty damn important.
Use Light, Beasts, Metal instead of Heavens
NecroLords: Use at least one Death Mage
    Brets: Use Peasants&Damsels
    Skaven: Don't use Skryre SAD

The lance takes precedence since the netlings only modify your to hit roll, but since the lance means you don't need a to hit roll at all it wins.

Any item that states "hits automatically" then it will always hit the character with the netlings, anything else requires 6's only (which sucks)

Well, just to be fair to both sides (I play WE and soon Brettonians), if theres ever a dispute about "I always hit", "Well I can only be hit on a dice roll of 6", "But I always hit!", etc. Roll a d6. On a 1-3 the brettonians lance ignores the week little spite for now. On a 4-6 the spite is too annoying to ignore. This way both armies will feel secure about their heros and it tends to play a lot better (the games about fun, not winning). Or you can call rulez-boyz and ask them.

And get a different answer everytime? I'd rather roll a dice.

I would say that if you have an item that automatically hits versus something that can only be hit on a 6 you have to assume that the automatic hits are all 6s. And believe me it pains me greatly to back the Brettonians on anything.

Think about this, a knight would using the lance would normally hit on a 3+ then using a lance that hits automatically assumes that all the rolls were 3 or above, if he needs a 6 then the lance hits automatically on 6's.

Is it against the rules to post the points cost for the silver lance thingy here? More importantly I guess is which is more expensive, the annoyance or the lance?

The lance definately overrules the sixes to hit. For the exact reason previously mentioned. The nettlings just say if you shake dice to hit this character those dice must be 6's. The Lance says you don't need dice to hit anything.
