I used to collect brets in the 5th ed but kinda skipped 6th ed for warhammer (have been playing 40k guard) but i wanted to get back into warhammer now 7th ed is coming out. My %th ed army is obviously just a little behind the times but i was wondering if the newer models mix okay with the older ones and also which models do i need to pick up to get a viable force again,
I have some 80-90 odd bowmen (inc some squires on foot)
a 5 man unit of mounted squires
1 unit of men at arms( they were fantastic till their WS got nerfed)
30-40 kotr inc several command figures (mostly standards)
6 knights errant inc full command
the green knight
several heros (1 on a pegasus)
i mounted damsel
i think thats everything not quite sure but anyway where do i need to add units?
thanks for any help
Your army will play fine under the current rules. Here are the things you should watch out for:
Errant knights are actually a very good buy now. You may want to pick up some more.
Men at arms are crappy, yes, but at least they are relatively cheap. Keep a knight unit near them to boost their moral.
For the price, Bretonnian bowmen ROCK, but no more "wedge" formation... Still, there aren't a lot of other bows in the game that can compete with that price (goblins of course, but they have puny shortbows).
Questing knights got somewhat "nerfed" in 7th edition, so will only be strenght 5 with their great weapons. Still, they're not bad, but will require you to buy new models (since they're armed with great weapons).
Probably the unit you WILL want to go out and buy is Pegasus Knights. They are VERY good for their points (T4, 3 wounds, 1S5 +2S4 attacks on the charge).
Hi there and welcome back. You've come back at a good time as 7th edition promises to be a lot of fun.
I agree wholeheartedly with the above comments, especially regarding the Pegasus Knights. You will want them and they will be effective.
Other options to look at will be the rare choices of Grail Knights and the all new Trebuchet.
The models that you already have will give you a terrific starting point. They are perfectly compatible with the new edition and will serve you well until you make some additions.

Next Army - Tomb Kings
Thanks for the advice. I'm going to pick up the army book sometime this week and il try out a list or two to see what it looks like.
