Is the virtue that puts a knight on foot any good anymore? I mean according to the new rule book- I saw that a mounted hero cannot be picked off out of units anymore as in the last Ed. So say I wanted to have a knight with my M@A, what’s to stop me from just putting a knight on horse vs. a foot knight with them? Would this be a bad idea to save the verture slot for something else? Please advise
Well, Virtue of Empathy still gives the Knigget Leadership radius for Peasants. And taking it doesn't mean you have to sell your horse. So you can put a mounted "general" tin can in Peasants.
Use Light, Beasts, Metal instead of Heavens
NecroLords: Use at least one Death Mage
Brets: Use Peasants&Damsels
Skaven: Don't use Skryre SAD
The virtue of empathy says a Knight MAY be fielded on foot! IMHO this means that if you field a dismounted paladin then they get a double radius to affect M@A with their leadership.
You do not need to dismount this character but if you do not then you are wasting the points spent to give the virtue to the character as ANY paladin/ lord can use their leadership to influence M@A moral within the normal radius and not double radius as the virtue imbues.
I use a dismounted Paladin regularly and he has a great history . He adds a lot of character to my army , I would advise any one who wishes to have a bit of fun with their Brettonian Army to use a dismounted Palain ith their M@A units
i disagree i don't think a knight on foot is fluffy or a good idea for 1 it has never been any good either this ed or last and 2 wtf why would a proud knight slog it out with stinky peasents in the mud it is totally against fluff and just looks crappy he just never fits in with the unit and it makes the entire thing look out of place

Ive used a paladin on foot a few times, and it hasn't really helped me much. Thats not to say they are usless. From how i understand it, it depends what you give him and how you use them. A questing knight on foot could be used in a unit of M@As to give some backbone against Lord and heroes looking to hit weaker units like archers or your trebuchet.
But, with the current rules, the uses for a knightly character on foot are too few and somewhat impractical, only consideredif you have some extra points to throw around.
For the Lady and the King of Bretonnia!
