Bretonnian army....all converted to be a Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy grail army?
I dont know if ill do this but im seriously contemplating it. i would probaby find non mounted knight feet and bit order them, then on the back of the base put a peasant, green stuff the coconuts, and throw one of the large questing knight backpack onto him.
i dunno if im going to do this for my whole army, maybe just a squad of knights, but i would think it would be awesome.
I would also want to make tim one of my mages. chop up a beastmen head and put it as the horns on some mage head (probably get a mage from empire, extend the beard and cover him in greenstuff "rags".
and finally, im trying to figure out how to encorporate the killer bunny. at first i thought make him a "hippogryph" but now im leaning towards a grail reliquae. just put a bunny on that large base, and make all the "peasants" pyles of bones (get a box of skeletons and break em up into pyles)
you think this would work? im really leaning towards doing it. but more importantly would you play against it?
I think it would be wonderful. I love creativity. The knights and Tim would be readily identifiable as to what they are supposed to be. And all you would have to do is say - this bunny on bones is _____ . I would certainly play against it and have a good laugh on the way. But then, Ive never refused to play anyone based on their models, because I think doing so is unsporting and lame, but thats a whole nother bag of worms. I say go for it and good luck!
This is a fantastic idea. I would definetely play against it.
Ask me something about Warhammer: Age of Reckoning.
Thats awesome!! Great idea!!
Would you include the Black Knight? or the Knights who say Ni?
i think im going to incorporate the black knight as my non bsb paladin/lord. hell be simple to model, and im going to buy a giant chaos sword to put on his back, and chop off his hand and lay it on the base. (because of that and how they have overly-big weapons in the movie.
my first squad of knights of the realm will be knights who say nhi, as ill paint them that way and give all their heads the antlers.
not sure about the peasants except ill probably put pyles of green stuff on some bases and paint it brown (government peasants sketch) and make a guy shaved (witch sketch)
so army so far:
BSB: Arthur with patsy with a big old flag
Paladin/Lord: black knight
Damsels: Tim and Girl from witch scene (i was going to take the standing damsel, and green stuff a tin can onto her head and carrot onto her nose)
Knights of the realm: Knights who say Nhi!
men at arms: give them colors and armor and decals to look like men at arms that lancelot killed during the marriage skit. also at the end when arthur assembles his army could paint them like that.
bowmen: peasants with dung piles and unshaven beards and make em look peasanty
Questing knights: knights to look like main group following arthur, they seek the grail afterall
Grail reliqae: the main big base will be the rabbit with piles of bones around him. the peasants surrounding him will be the monks, all converted to have wooden boards in their hands.
pegaus knights: no clue what to do.
grail knights: paint them like the french, they have the grail after all.
field trebuchet: paint the peasants french, green stuff some mustaches, and replace the bricks their firing with cows.
sound like a plan? tons of converting but it sounds awesome and im pumped to pull this off, would look hilarious. again if anyone has any ideas about the pegasus knights im all ears. maybe just paint them like knights who say nhi too.

brilliant, post the pictures when your done!
It'd be hilarious. People would love playing against you. A guy in our gaming group has a comical Bret army with a pope in the pope-mobile, a cardinal Pujols, and a lot of other tongue-in-cheek religious imagery. Everyone loves playing against, until he declares his first charge. Then we quit laughing.
I think tongue in cheek armies like this are the way forward. I love seeing models converted to comical effect.
An absolutely brilliant idea. Be sure to post pictures of your progress!
Of course its a funny idea. I just dont know where a lot of your models on horse would fit in. There wasnt a lot of lancing in the movie either. You could have some signature pieces that would be pretty dang funny but it'll be tough. Good luck.
Superworld reborn. Post feedback http://18.104.22.168/~librariu/foru...ad.php?t=86340
Excellent idea. I too am looking forward to pictures. Although this wasn't in the movie, in keeping with the spirit of Monty Python, there may be some way to attach the pegasus' wings to their outstrecthed arms (converted, of course, since the sprue doesn't have outstrecthed arms)? Having a cadre of knights flapping madly to try to get themselves and their horses airborne just kind of seems appropriate.
Just a thought,
Bad Hat Harry
