k i managed to buy a bret battalion set, 2 more pegasus knights, (so i could use the 1 that came in the battalion) a hero/lord, a standard bearer, a box of knights of the realm ,and a grail reliquae (cuz it was on sale) but what else should I get?? also what should i equip my lord/ standard bearer with???
any help would be appreciated.
As an opponent of Brets, I have found over-sized skirmishing units of peasant archers to be a royal (or not so royal as they're peasant) pain in the arse.
I faced a guy who ran 30 of them in one unit, and they were sure to cause lots of damage over the course of the game. To be rid of them, you had to devote too much energy for too little VPs. They were a very effective unit. Even if you don't want 30 of them, they're worth considering.
I defiintely agree with a chunky unit of peasant archers. I use mine in units of 20, but 30 would probably be pretty good. My concern with a unit that large would be if they fled..
More knights of the realm, you will probably want at least 2 or 3 units of them. Then play a few games and see what you like. Grail or questing knights are a good addition as heavier knights, even if they are only a bit more powerful than normal knights, and the trebuchet is pretty cool.
The trouble is that with 30 of them you opponent has to kill 8 of them to force a panic check. Not that easy to do.

The "A Smart Player Will..." theory is a complete paradox. If we make an assumption that everything we do is outsmarted, then theoretically we can never win.
