This is the list my regular opponent has made up with the new 'dex. It seems alright to me, with a few minor points which I'll list as we go.
Chaos Lord - 130
(I think a Deamon weapon is almost a must, it seems very good!)
5 Termies - 180
10 CSM's - 200
10 CSM's - 200
8 Bezerkers - 198
-Champ with power weapon
(I think these will get shot up badly if foot-slogging. Need 2 more, or a Rhino.
7 Raptors - 190
-Champ with dual claws
(could use an 8th Raptor and/or a second melta gun. Or perhaps Mark of Khorne instead).
5 Havocs - 155
-4 Missile launchers
(I think these need atleast 1 more meat-shield)
Predator - 135
-heavy bolter sponsons
I would probably drop the Predator to pay for the things I mentioned above. (it works out to cover all of the cost almost exactly)
What are your thoughts?
Dark Elves - Game #28 vs High Elves: Draw

Not real sure how to quote stuff, but I'll just say stuff out.
I would not take a lord in termi armour at all (unless you want him with the terminators, in which case a landraider would be in order) and replace this with a daemon prince with wings for the same cost.
The terminators look a little too generalized and need a specific purpose. I would say combi weapons are the best thing to give them, for specialized roles.
On the regular squads I would add another meltagun, and the IOCG to each. Along with rhinos you mentioned.
Berserkers also deserve a rhino.
Raptors could use another man, but need another melta.
To get all the junk that I mentioned I would get rid of the havocs completely, as they are very static, and that doesn't fit well with . . .well basically everything else. imho havocs don't feel right with the army your trying to get which is more rhinos while keeping the tanks.
If you made all the changes then you should have enough anti-tank on the regular squads and the raptors so you could easily make the predator a dakka.
To simplify, I'm going to try to go off of Soul Reap's comments. You hit the little icon in the bottom right of the post you want to quote that (if you hold you mouse over it for a second) says reply with quote, and then once you figure out the syntax you split up quotes and stuff.Originally Posted by Soul ReapIndependent of Soul's comments you Lord is listed 10 points above what he should actually cost.Originally Posted by Soul Reap
That said, Soul's right on, I don't think Termi Lords are the best way to go. Winged Daemon Prince is a fair enough alternative to fill the same slot, you could also get a Lord with a Daemon Weapon for the price you have listed (130) or for a few points more you could snag the stereotypical Winged Lash Sorcerer (145). Really the bottom line is that your (buddy's) Lord is a really powerful character that needs to be getting into combat fast.Indeed, Combi-Weapons FTW in the new Codex apparently. I would say either drop more points into these guys or pick a specialization: fists (and Deep Strike them near the enemy) or guns (and drop them anyplace or footslog them I guess)Originally Posted by Soul Reap
Alright, on further inspection it does not appear that your friend gave any of his squads Icons, so the Terminators are probably walking. I don't think this is the greatest idea, especially with the Heavy Flamer (you'll be either out of range or in cc - the chance that you get to use it even once is slim). Either kit them for shooting or get some Icons. Or don't feel bad cutting them out entirely, it is a small list and you're trying to fit a lot into it and Terminators are a real drag on your model count and point limit which is expecially problematic when you're missing some key elements.Truth.Originally Posted by Soul ReapYes, they quite nearly require it. They will simply be shot up before they make it into combat because they can't fight back.Originally Posted by Soul ReapAgain, right on the money. Even numbers are great for a few reasons, and maximizing your special weapon count wherever you can is essential.Originally Posted by Soul ReapI think I agree. If you get rhinos for most of the rest of your troops you could (and maybe should) chop the Havocs (this would also let you keep & buff the Terminators, but they would necessitate some Icons on your other squads as Soul has advised), as they will be recieving all the heat from any ranged anti-infantry. My problem I guess is with the Vindicator - it's really short range and, from what I hear anyway, they're only competitive in pairs. Personally I would go with two AC/LC Preds instead of your current Heavy setup, but that's just because I'm okay with more boring, stereotypical lists. Other than that or dual Vindicators I'm not sure how else to advise you here to be honest, try it out and see what works for you.Originally Posted by Soul Reap
Hope the thoughts help. Cheers.
