Ok, based on the feedback I got in this (Chaos 1500 CSM/Tank spam) thread and Warseer on my 1500 list, here's an expansion of that list into a 2000 point setting. I put a few more boots on the ground and added some hard Terminators and what I consider to be a nasty HQ.
For those of you throwing the book at me with my Tzeentch sorceror and Khorne lord, let me just say it's a Fluff thing.
Chaos Lord- Lightning Claws, Wings, Mark of Khorne, Meltabombs (155)
Chaos Sorceror- Warp Time, Mark of Tzeentch, Wings (145)
Chaos Terminators (215)
-Terminator Aspiring Champion- Powerfist, Icon of Chaos Glory
-5 Terminators- Heavy Flamer (155)
2 Chaos Space Marines (270x2=540)
-Aspiring Champion- Powerfist, Icon of Chaos Glory (65)
-9 Chaos Marines- 2 Meltagun (155)
-Rhino- Extra Armor (50)
Chaos Space Marines (115)
-6 Chaos Marines- Plasma Gun, Icon of Chaos Glory (115)
2 Raptor Squad (230x2=460)
-Aspiring Champion- Lightning Claws, Mark of Chaos Glory (70)
-7 Raptors- 2 Meltagun (160)
2 Predator (115x2=230)
Predator- Heavy Bolter Sponsons, Extra Armor (115)
6 Chaos Marines- 4 Autocannon, Icon of Chaos Glory (180)
Basic idea here is to give my opponent a bunch of stuff coming at him, with a pair of Predators and a pair of Rhinos to distract his anti tank and two squads who generally sit back and shoot. The leader figures here will hide in the Raptor Squads and hopefully either go out and find a unit to pounce on and rip to shreds or act as counter-assault- though the Lord and Sorceror will hopefully wet their blades fairly quickly! All the meltas are obviously for anti tank. Terminators will either hunker down under cover (like any unit that's not moving forward) and pour combi bolter into anyone who gets too close, and run in and clobber anything that gets way too close, or advance and hopefully not die, claiming some objective or table quarter. The Preds will tear up infantry (if I'm lucky).
What units do and where they go generally depends on the mission, but that above is my general outline. Tried to keep every unit within some sort of role, I'm not much of a believer in multitasking when I have limited troops.
Now, are there things I can change about this list, things that are unnecessary, etc? Is there a unit who could be changed to better suit its role, or be given a different role? Am I just an idiot? :rofl Let me know.
I intend to collect towards the list that I form from this feedback; so if you happen to say, oh, "you should use this setup because it will allow you to use the NEW Chaos Lord Terminator and I really think you need TWO Terminator Squads becuase the models are just gorgeous and cut down on the basic troops and throw in some of the NEW Spawn and some Lesser Daemons," I might- not saying I definitely will, but I might- just dismiss you as a GW marketing daemon.
Have at it, rip this list to shreds if you must.
Wawawahahahah!!! Another list saved from the dark depths of the forum!
Just a few points, I would switch the autocannons on the havocs to missile launchers as your a little short on anti-tank.
I believe this would help. I would replace the small 6 man marine squad to give two more bodies to the havocs. The extra points can be used to give both preds lascannon sponsons and lastly any other extra points should be used for combi weapons on the terminators.
Back from the dead to haunt new houses.
Send me a hello if you remember me.
