This is my first full 40k list, so please give me feedback.
Fluff wise, I have my own Renegade Chapter that re-enacted much of the Horus Heresy in miniature after watching the Inquisition burn down a planet they had just saved from the Tyranids.
The Chapter is led by a Potent former Librarian gone Sorcerer of Tzeentch and populated with some Nurgle flavor due to the bio-warfare unleashed on them by the Imperium.
Chaos Sorceror HQ
Wind of Chaos
Raptor Squad Fast Attack 8
Melta Gun 2
Mark of Khorne - Modeled as CSM on Mini-Discs of Tzeentch
CSM Squad Troop 10
Melta Gun 2
Icon Chaos Glory
Plague Marines Troop 10
Defiler w/ 2 Extra DCCW Heavy 150
Obliterator Heavy 150
Total: 1470 10
Model Count - 31
Vehicles - 4
The plan here is for the PM and CSM to advance forward as the rock hard core of the army.
Get the PMs in Rapid Fire range, deploy with plasma blazing, and accept the charge next turn. If they need help back them up with either the CSM in the other Rhino or the Raptors / Lord.
Tank Hunt / MC hunt with the Raptors and Sorceror. Keep them close to the Troops to either support them or get supported by them.
Use the Oblits and Predator to control fire lines with long range las cannons.
Use the Defiler to force the opponent to move where I want him. Hang back with teh battle cannon as much as possible, but be ready to fleet and charge into CC with any vehicles that get too close.

nicely balanced first list and some good fluff. I like the part about the chemical warfare making the plague marines join in. Also sounds like some good raptor models too.
It looks good and should handle different opponents well.
Just a question, if the predator only has las sponsons it cost 130 pts. Maybe you gave it possession making it 150.
Also, I don't know if you did, but give the defiler full close combat weapons. I have a feeling you did already though.
Thanks for the comments, must have spaced on the Pred price.
I was thinking about swapping the Pred for a Possessed Vindicator, but now I think I will just use the extra points saved to buy an extra Raptor or throw some Havoc Launchers on my Rhinos or something.
Though twin-pie plate army is tempting.
Use the Defiler to cover the Vindi while it moves into its short range, then use the Vindi to cover the Defiler as it moves up the board to help out squads that are mired in CC...
If your going to want a vindicator I would then say use points to get a lash to bring the defiler, vindicator, and the obliterators into range, but that would go against your fluff.
But the next suggestion is probably the best thing to do.
Just go ahead and get another defiler. You have the points to spend because of the predator point mixup and I think 2 defilers fleeting close to the enemy is way better then one.;Y
I was thinking about going Double Defiler, but it leaves me a little short on High Str shots. One of the people in my group is Necron, so I need SOMETHING that can pop a Monolith. And I don't think 2 Oblits and some Melta is going to cut it.
Mind you, I will probably end up with 2 Defilers, 1 pred w/ magnets, and 1 Vindi so I can swap them out to see what works.
But that is a VERY long term plan.
Near term I think I am going to stick with Defiler and Pred, if only to avoid the massive work involved in converting, constructing, and painting Defilers that don't look like they are trying to kill you with a spiky paint-brush. Stupid flail arm...
