    Emperors Grandchildren

My Slaanesh army is back in all its bangbangbang glory. Unfortunately its missing its host of 24 nettes this time, due to the fact they suck.

    Good strong army here.

    Minor tweaks

I prefer daemon prince with lash as he is more useful in combat but then again he can be singled out for shooting.

Terminators seem to be a bit on the small side. Perhapse drop an oblit for the points for another two termies with some combi plasmas in the unit.

Troops choices are very strong but a bit high pointswise. Noise marines work well in fire support role with no champions and plenty of sonics and a blast master. The other use is close combat using the champ and fantastic doom siren for close in knife fighting in which case you can drop the sonics and blast masters. You have kitted out units to do both roles. Since you only have 2 units this may be sensible but if you stand at 22" range throwing 33 bolt shots a turn at the enemy then the champ, power weapon and doomsiren are wasted.

Considder splitting them into 3 squads with some kitted out as long range and others as combat specialists.

Vindicators work well in conjunction with the lash.

Oblits are even better with the lash supporting them.

I'd suggest dropping the unit of terminators, since they don't really seem to be adding much to your overall scheme and don't really pose too much of a threat. You could replace them with another lash sorc if you also dropped the Doom Sirens from your noise marine squads.

Another lash will really help this list out because you're going to want to keep enemy guns out of cover, enemy cc specialists away from your gunlines, and enemy everything bunched up into tight little circles for your vindicators' pie plates.

I'd also drop the blastmasters, 'cause I'm of the opinion that they're way overpriced. For the price of those two guns you could have four more noise marines on the table.

I'd also swap the vindicators out for defilers. I think there are very few situations where Str10 AP2 ordinance is much better than Str8 AP3 ordinance, but plenty of situations where 72" range ordinance is much better than 24" range ordinance. Also the defiler's CC ability allows it to act as an effective counter-charge tool if your noise marines get caught up in CC.

Or, better yet, replace both vindicators with two units of two obliterators (abominations) each. Here's why: You're light on anti-tank in this list, and four more oblits would boost your anti-tank considerably. Also, with only two pieces of armor, you're practically guaranteed to lose all of your armor in the first few turns if the enemy brought any anti-tank whatsoever. You're usually better off with zero armor than just one or two pieces, as that leaves your opponent's dedicated anti-tank units practically worthless.

Also, while it looks like you're planning to join your lash sorc to a noise marine squad, consider giving him flight to make sure he can get where he needs to be to lash what he needs to lash.

    Happy hunting!

Most definitly find a way to give your sorc wings or some type of mobility upgrade to maximize the use of the lash probly drop the termies or something along those lines
    Change is good

Hmmm. All good suggestions. I'd add one more - give the terminators combi-meltas or combi-plasmas. That way, they can suddenly deepstrike in and strike a key opposing unit or vehicle.

I like the most recent emulation of your list, but I would have to echo the comment of an earlier poster, drop the Blastmasters. I realize that they are most of your anti-tank (aside from the Havocs) but if you dropped them that would leave you 205 pts left over.

Maybe with these extra points you could add some more Noise Marines and make 3 smaller squads?

Even better, add another Havoc squad for some range and anti-tank.

Either way will stay effective and with the removal of the blastmasters your points will be more evenly spread.

Also, change your Sorcerer to a Prince, he's going to be on his own, might as well take the form that can't be insta-killed.

As an addendum, how do you alter what it says under your username? I.e. yours says "hurling rats at rabbits"? Thanks and good list!

    Dude, what?

They arent 102.5 points each, they arent for anti tank, and my sorceror isnt going to be on his own. So in short:

    Eh?

Also, i beleive its in user CP somewhere, Katie Drake told me how to do it and i cant remember.

Your Sorcerer has wings, correct? Which means that if he joins a squad his wings are pointless. If he uses the wings then he is going to be moving about using the lash. If he does this he can be singled out by a high strength weapon and die. I realize that you can keep him in cover, etc. By making him a Prince it is almost the same cost (10 pts more) but has more uses and better survivability.

Also, for 40 pts a pop for the blastmesters, plus the 125 you have left = 205.

I guess what I was trying to say was that a Blastmaster in a squad of noise marines with sonic blasters is like paying 40 pts for a glorified Sonic Blaster. If you move the Blastmaster is not that much better than a sonic blaster. If you stay put, your sonic weaponry gets better, however I don't get the feeling these units are going to be stationary that much.

So, with that said, I suggested taking out the Blastmasters and adding a squad of Havocs, maybe with autocannons instead?

My other suggestion was to perhaps add in 5-6 Noise Marines and another Champ as you have it set up and make 3 squads of 10 Marines.

You have a very narrow focus for what you want in your army, and that's fine. But realize that when I look at your list I see a lot of short range shots and very few bodies for a 1500 pt list. I see a Sorcerer that I can kill first turn with a good shot. I see slow troops that take up 1/2 of your points that I can shoot up.

The main focus of your army is the Lash and the Vindicators. From my point of view you need the Lash to survive as long as possible. In my experience, a Sorcerer with a Lash is just not as survivable as a Prince for 10 pts more. Not only that, but the Prince is more versitile in CC.

Take the comments as you will, thanks for the info, and good luck!

He uses his wings to flit from squad to squad, its a fairly easy thing to do, and im sure people will back me up on this.

    Ahh, sorry i misunderstood.

They do stay put, theyre an awesome firing platform.

Ive already used all 3 heavy choices

My other suggestion was to perhaps add in 5-6 Noise Marines and another Champ as you have it set up and make 3 squads of 10 Marines.

Im posting my other list once im done here

See the next list, it adds 10 marines to the mix. You cant shoot the sorcerer.

Actually the noise marines are the focus, they have so far blown everythign theyve shot at away, and im loving them. The sorcerer isnt meant to get into CC unless theres a vulnerable enemy character nearby he can go hunting. He is much more survivable than a DP, as he is an independant character

Take the comments as you will, thanks for the info, and good luck!

    Thanks
