    1500 pts Khorne/Skulltaker/Nurgle/Tzeentch

Yes, I know that Skulltaker is Khornate. I just put him in a league of his own. This is the next installment of my

    HQ

    Skulltaker
    140

    Troops

    2x10 Bloodletters
    Icon
    Fury of Khorne
    390

    2x10 Plaguebearers
    Noxious touch
    Icon
    370

    10 Horrors
    Changeling
    Bolt of Tzeentch
    Icon

    Heavy Support

    Soulgrinder
    Tongue & Phlegm
    185

    Models: 62
    1500 ON THE FUDGING DOT!

Okay, I now officially have a lot of troops. This was made from the comments of my previous list.

    Cohort 1
    Skulltaker
    1 Bloodletter squad
    1 plaguebearer squad
    1 horror squad

    Cohort 2
    Soulgrinder
    1 Bloodletter squad
    1 Plaguebearer squad
    1 Horror Squad

I think this is pretty balanced. The horrors provide anti-everything firepower, and so does the soulgrinder.

I'm not sure where to go with this.

Again drop this down...No need for ten...

    10 Horrors
    Changeling
    Bolt of Tzeentch
    Icon

    Nice setup here.

    10 Horrors

    Nice setup here.

    Heavy Support

    Soulgrinder
    Tongue & Phlegm
    185

    Nice setup here.

The only other comments I can give on this list is, You don't want to leave soulgrinder by himself. As the only armour piece he will become a huge target and they will try to take him down asap. So just be weary of that. I would say try to put in at least another one.

Also, you shouldn't have both toungue and phlegm on the same grinder. One weapon destroyed result and you lose both, plus the vomit and thats 50pts down the drain. I would only take one. You could also probably drop an icon or two if you want.

The problem is that I don't have the points. And we daemons have poor saves, so we need as many models as possible.

Skulltaker is going to be with the bloodletters, obviously. I questioned the wisdom of putting both on the same one, but I couldn't find a better alternative other than dropping the soulgrinder for a herald of tzeentch and more horrors.

In my 1850 installment I'm adding another soulgrinder for sure, probably a herald of Tzeentch or khorne, and buffing up the squads. Mostly the horrors and the plaguebearers.

I try to think of this army like our anathema, Grey knights. We have good troops, but they're expensive. That's why I'm putting everything into the amount of troops I have. By the time I hit 3k, I plan to have all my HQ, Troops, and Heavy Support slots filled. I want some flamers or some bloodcurshers and a herald (of khorne) on a juggernaut. The troops section will be filled with 2 squads of 20 daemons for each god. (Tzeentch, Khorne, and Nurgle) Then, once I hit apocalypse, I'll let all hell loose.

But enough of that. I see what you mean, Phalanx. I just couldn't decide which one to put. I don't have the points for another soulgrinder. I would have to drop my Skulltaker back to a normal Herald, take away some men (of which I am not willing to do: Numbers are power in any army) take away some icons (that's a maybe. I probably don't need the ones on the bloodletters. The horrors and the plaguebearers are survivable enough)

And I still don't have enough points.

    -2 icons
    - 1 upgrade
    skulltaker-> Herald
I only get 105 pts. I could drop another icon off one of the horror squads, but it's risky. Even so, I wouldn't have the pts.

If you look at the Battle report for the Daemons in 40K in this months WD, you see that the soulgrinders weren't targeted at all. I mean it. At all. The only one that died died from a PF. Stupid little dark angle...

    I'll certainly consider your suggestions.

Well him being targeted depends on the people you play...if they see him as a risk or not...it also depends on when he makes it into the game as well...if he doesn't make it out first turn then he might not be targeted as much...so it really depends on the situation of the game but it would be really bad if he was targeted by tanks and such for the simple fact that he is the only armour piece you have...in saying that in the article did it say how many soul grinders were being used? If it was more then one or not...because if you have more then one armour piece it make it very hard to target them both and splits up the hits...it is just a way to protect them both...

There were 2 pieces of armour, BUT the second one didn't arive until the second or third turn. I think.
