I'm going to be playing my mate next week, who favors the eldar. Expecting Wraithlord w anti-tank set-up, couple of war-walkers with scatter lasers, shees, farseer, dire avengers & maybe a lil extra. This is the core of my army:
Chaos Sorcerer [Joins Plasma gunning squad] (135 pts)
Mark of Nurgle
9 Plague Marines (277 pts)
Two Plasma Guns
Rhino (35 pts)
9 Plague Marines (267 pts)
Two Melta Guns
Rhino (35 pts)
...but that only comes to 749 points and I can't decide what to do with the remaining points. Any C&C would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Predator (100 pts)
w. Heavy Bolter side sponsoons
5 Terminators (240 pts)
Mark of Nurgle
Champion with pair Lightning Claws
Reaper Autocannon & Power Fist
[last two are vanilla]
Add Personal Icon to Sorceror (+5pts)

Firstly, I unfortunately don't have three preds to configure however we all see fit. Secondly, 2 AC + 2xLC preds are 130 points each (as you said), which comes to 260 not 230, meaning I'd have to reduce my squad sizes to 7 and 6, which seems a little small, especially when you think of the overall model count. Furthermore, the extra four lascannons seems a bit excessive over the two meltas, meltabombs & two plasma I already have, not that I'm saying that's enough overall.
Thanks for the input, but I just don't see three preds being practical =(
How about 2 sets of 3 Terminators with combi-plas. Put personal Icons on the plague squads, and have them summon in and use their alpha strike (what I call rapid firing 1 shot plasmas) to take out the walkers/wraithlord. After thats gone their shouldnt be much to trouble your core plague squads. (I know bashees power weaps ignore armour + feel no pain, but hey they are wounding on 6's)
You should also have points left over to squeeze in another plague marine... Or if you have the figure a nurgle prince with wings, instead of your sorcerer.
What once was courage has now cursed in the wars we've made.
We are the sinners, before our graves.
That sounds good to me. I only have five termie models and I'll keep the main couple as they are I think, unless you really don't think the reaper's worth the points (The champion can rip apart squads on his own), but I'll convert the two vanilla to have combi-plas and maybe take the combi-melta off to get a third.
If you do the mathhammer, war walkers with scatters really aren't worth the points against my army imho, so they'll be the last thing I shoot at. 'Shees are far more squishy and if he only has a couple left then the squad's effectiveness is drastically reduced, and the wraithlord could be very dangerous.
I got put off playing with daemon princes (especially expensive ones) Since they're big, scary and can jump around the table very quickly, so they got shot at a lot. I'd rather risk a turn with my rhinos, unload, and let him pick his targets from what I have left. Either of my large troops are capable of taking woulds off him, and I intend to hit it with both after the shees are out of the question, hopefully very quickly).
Thanks for the help anyways!
