Hi all, some of you may know me as 'plague' and well my internet is down so i don't have access to the chat room (Im in work currently)
My force is all over the place at the moment and just need some advice
Lucius the eternal
Chaos termo lord with duel LC
Plague Marines x 3 Squads of 7
3 Plasma guns and 1 flamer
Noise Marines X 1 Squad
Box of 8 with 1 x blast and 1 x sonic
Chaos Bikes x 3
Chaos spawn x 2
Terminators x 3
As you can see my army is pretty much all over the place, been told different things which would be why Lucius is here and well i just need to filter out the useless and get a good idea of what is a viable army really.
HQ: In a 1500 poiints list you should probably only take one of these. Probably drop the Lord.
Troops: Plague marines need 2 plasmas or 2 meltas per squad. Occasionally people take 2 flamers but they work better in rhino equipped squads. Get champions with power fists too.
Noise marines do best either
1. 6-8 men armed with all sonic blasters (maybe with one blast master upgrading one model but they are pricy. Dont put champions inthis unit and keep them at range firing assault 2 shots on the move or heavy 3 shots when stationary.
2. 6-10 men in a rhino without any sonics but get a champ with power weapon and a doom siren. These make a good knife fighting unit that gets in close, thins out the opposition with the doomsiren and charges at high initiative.
Bikes: Not too keen on them. Best loadout would be 2 melta guns and no other upgrades for a cheap turbo boosting tank hunting unit. Some people upgrade the third model to a champion and use him as the host for a summoned greater daemon.
Spawn: Nice models but poor in game terms for the points.
Terminators: Get a few more. You could even use the Lord model with lightening claws as a unit champion. Give the rest combi plasmas and 1 PF or CF in the unit. IoT or IoN are good for survivability but only on larger units.
This should come out around 1400 to 1500 points. Considder a rhino or two for the PMs or an obliterator or two for some ranged anti tank firepower.

Your troops are okay. The plague Marines would benefit from a transport and more special weapons.
Drop the Spawn. At best they are cannon fodder. Lesser Daemons have a similar role and are more useful...even scoring!
Your HQs don't fit this list--they're the only dedicated CC units.
The bikes and Terminators need a larger model count to be effective. 6 Bikes is a good minimum in my experience. For Terminators, it depends on how you intend to use them: throwaway deepstrike, Land Raider crew, shock troops etc. (The combiplasmas Mad Cat suggested are mainly for the deepstrike; in a Land Raider, one brings a heavy flamer and upgraded CC weapons; and shock troops, lots of basic-equipment bodies.)
One direction you could take is to choose either bikes or Termies, then drop one squad and the Spawn to invest in the other. Terminators would be slightly preferable as your Lord is ideal for leading them. If you have a particular theme in mind, however, just let us know.

I want a versatile army i suppose, capable of adapting during the battle.
At the moment i went for a bit of everything just so i could get a feel for my units, i need some close combat units and some anti unit weapons i think.
Any suggestions for these?
