Hi, i am going to be starting a small Chaos Daemons army for a campaign me and a couple of friends are organising. I like themed armies, and have decided to start out with a Khornate core for my army (the scenario is based around a Khornate Demon prince trapped in stasis, etc). This is what i was thinking of.
2 Bloodcrushers w/ Fury of Khorne (90pts)
8 Bloodletters w/ Fury of Khorne (138pts)
8 Bloodletters w/ FUry of Khorne (138pts)
8 Bloodletters w/ Fury of Khorne (138pts)
8 Bloodletters w/ Fury of khorne (138pts)
Daemon Prince w/ MoK, WIngs, Blessing, Iron Hide + Death STrike. (215pts)
Basically, the BLoodletters will kill everything they can get to grips with, and the Daemon Prince destroys tanks. Skulltaker and the Bloodcrushers, Skulltaker will join the crushers, will be my firefighting unit. Other Armies are Nids, DH, CSM, IG and another army i am not sure about. I wanted the Fok to show that there are like Bloodletter leaders, bloodletter champions in the army. I wanted Death STrike in case the DH player has Inquisitors with, umm i think it is called Sanctity or something that stops Daemons in their trackes. With Death Strike, the DP can shoot them to death. But i think i need Icons sooo... Wat does everyone think? Thanks in advance, Revan_101
Sorry everone, i got carried away and i forgot to say that it is a 1000pts list. Can any mods tell me how to edit the title, or change it for me?
HQ: The Skull taker isn't worth his points. compared to the 3.5 bloodcrushers or 9 bloodletters you could buy for his points he is worse in combat and far easier to kill.
Troops: OK but drop the rending.
Heavy: This guy is almost as expensive as a greater daemon of Khorne. Drop him for a blood thirster.
This should leave you 145 points left over to get 4 more crushers or another unit of troops. A cheap daemon prince with Hide and MoK could make up in the anti tank department.
Quorn! - Protein for the Protein God.
Skulltaker is a solid pick. He's got his super rending and on a jugger he is a beast. If you wanted to save points a normal Herald with unholy might and a jugger would work well.
You can only get fury of Khorne once per Bloodcrusher unit, but I'd keep the one as you can use it for wound allocation. I'd try and fit more in.
Bloodletters need to be in bigger units, 8 is fairly easy to kill. I'd go for 11-13 with an icon. Fury of Khorne isn't that great.
The Prince is really expensive and you may as well get a Bloodthirster, but it's for your theme so I suppose much can't be done. I'd keep him relatively inexpensive though, Iron Hide being pretty much all you need.
I would drop Skully and the Crushers in favor of a Bloodthirster, tone down the DP (Mark of Khorne, Iron Hide, Blessing) and combine the Bloodletters into 2 units of 16 with icons. That leaves you with 53 points, which you could use to get more Bloodletters and split them in more units (3 units of 11 with icons maybe?) or drop some stuff to get wings on your Prince.

I think your list is ok for the scenario, however you do want Iron hide as much as possible cause DH will negate your invul saves. Your probably going to want more bloodletters and drop deathstrike and Blessings of the Blood God, trust me I play daemonhunters and the only things you really have to fear are the Invul negating weapons and Grand master possibly decked out with anti-daemon stuff. Also for your bloodletters your going to want to screen them with your big dudes and cover. It is absoultly imperative that you use cover while on the move, thats the key to playing with lesser daemons unless your tzeentch then their is some tricks you can do. Skulltaker is good but kinda lay back as in he won't be contributing much in the beginning unless you put him on a bloodcrusher and attach him to that unit. Also note that the Daemon Prince is kinda fragile he is only T5 bolters can bring him down if you don't give him iron hide and even still your going to be taking wounds. He needs to hide and the use his wings which by the way are also imperative to have on daemon princes otherwise they die and don't earn their points back , and you essential pounce on units and vechicles and destroy, but make sure that you don't hit something that will pwn you easily like that grand master that I was talking about or a large sqd of grey knights. Srry I rambled on like that.
