1k army, overveiw and expand advice

ok all iv been wrking on making a list for a 1k point army. Here is what i have so far.

Troops: 9 Chaos Space Marines, 2 with plasma guns and Icon of Chaos Glory.
1 Aspiring Champion, with Power Fist.
1 Chaos Rhino, as transport no upgrades picked yet.
265 points for the troops so far.
Ok thats all i have for troops so far, thats one squad and i think you need 2 for a 1k army. Im thinking of using one of the cult marines units as my second squad. I dont know which too pick though.

HQ: Daemon Prince, with wings and he will have a mark i just dont know which to pick though.
130 points for the HQ so far, though still need to add a mark.

Heavy Support: 1 Defiler, no upgrades picked, not sure if he needs it..idk though.
150 points for heavy support then maybe more if he needs upgrades.

Ok as a rap up for the HQ, Heavy Support and troops so far that 545 points out of 1000, leavin me 455 points left if i did my math right. Now that leaves me points to add more units and pick up any future unit upgrades and ones i may have missed already. So if anyone could chip in with some advice that would be great. plz and ty

Give ur DP Mark of Slaanesh and Lash of Submission. Swap out your plasma for melta and take another identical squad. Then you have 185 points left. Invest in whatever you like. Bezerkers or maybe some obliterators.

As Rusty said, take another troops choice. In order to make it easily (Depending on the models you get in the box of CSM) you could do one squad with dual plasma, and one with dual meltas.
Thats another 255 points used, leaving you with 200.
The DP, you have a few options. You could take MoS and Lash of Submission, MoT, Warptime and Wind of Chaos, MoT and just warptime, MoK and no power, or just warptime and any mark (Except MoK) are the most common. This will generally cost you between 10 and 80 more points, so we will call it an average of 50.
With the remaining 150 points, i'd say go for either a second defiler, or buy a pair of obliterators.

I think, generally, they are very specialised, and such work better in larger games.
I personally like the think of Cult Troops like elites choices, so where I like to take one troops choice for every 500 points (Except, like, in under 1,000 points games where I have to take 2 anyway), I then take cult troops ON TOP of that.
So, for example, where my Night Lords would have 2 squads of marines and a squad of raptors, for example, another army of mine would have 2 squads of marines and a squad of berzerkers.
My reasoning for this is because cult troops are so powerful, I don't like using them to take and hold objective (With the obvious exception of Plague Marines), so I take them as my 'killing' squads.

Ahhh ok, somits better to take one cult squad for every 2 troops of CSM? I need to look a few things up in my codex but thanks for ur help so far. If you cant tell already im really new to the game and im trying to get a 1k army down with pencil and paper before i actually go out and buy it. I kno so far im getting, a troop sqaud of 10 CSM, an DP hq and a defiler as heavy, im trying to stick with one defiler for money issues. i kinda want a cult choice as my second troop but idk i may be able to fit 2 troops of 10 CSM and a troop of cult...but if u dont mind checking in on this forums everyonce in awhile that would be great thanks man.
