My LGS is hosting a city fight campaign soon, and we are starting with 750 pt lists, increasing to some higher points at some later time (I'm not sure about the specifics).
Here is my current idea for a list, no vehicles as I believe we will have lots of terrain.
6 Noise marines-
All with Sonics blasters
Champion with PW & melta bombs also
7 Plague Marines-
2 Plasma, PF on champ
Champ with PW and melta bombs
Figuring i will need all these troops choices for objectives and such and in theory they should be fairly hard.
Other than being fairly boned if someone has a Leman russ or Land raider, any glaring issues?
When there are buildings involved I like pulling out my raptors and disc sorc with warptime and wind of chaos to get some jumpin out of cover and templating into cover action. You can keep the raptors really vanilla, so 5 + sorc will be 315 - or you can throw in some meltaguns, champ, dual lightnin claws, icon etc and boost them to 450 combined
I'd keep it small for 750.
Oh, and Rhinos can be a cheap way of blocking off roads etc even if they get wrecked.
Perhaps a DP with warptime and WoC is more your style =)
Be nice to your enemies, it will make them madder!
Im by no means an expert (far from it in fact) and am a bit of a newcomer to CSM, but from my experience of CoD I'd say Raptors are a good bet, also maybe normal CSM instead of cult troops, as you get more for your money and therefore a slightly higher figure count. For example Plague Marines benefit from being really durable, but with all the extra cover in CoD even normal marines will be tricky to kill.
Plus don't underestimate template weapons, flamers really are invaluable in CoD. On this basis if you stick with the Noise marines maybe try to find room for a Doom Siren on the champ.
PLAN CLAN MAN!!

In Cod (I Think) the game revolves around capturing objectives. Maneuverability is key. At 35pts ea, its hard to go rong with a rihno. Rihnos literaly throw the troops at objectivs, and can block line of sight once they're there. This means not only do you reach the objective first, you have some of the most survivable standard troops in the game AND the enemy have to blow a hole through AV 11 before they can even start to think about throwing a stray shell at your valuable objective holders.
In any game, atleast 1 rhino is a must. My army has 3
Also, in densley packed terrain, blasts are deadly. Havoc launcher. 15 points well spent that will easily make up their value. On such a small points scale any more than 1 rhino will see you outnumbred, but for 50 points you get: Transport, Fire support, A barricade, Cover and a quick ticket out of trouble. Worth it? You know it!
Btw, TOO MUCH TERRAIN FOR VEHICLES? What kind of GW glue were you using when you thought that up?
VEHICLE + TERRAIN = OBSCURED VEHICLE = HARDER TO DESTROY
Going back to the blocking enemy LoS thing, well in more terrain you can wedge the rhino in a narrow alleyway, COMPLETELY removing enemy LoS. This means that enemies will have to completely change route to get to your valuable objective holders AND even if they do have weps that can down a rhino, they're probably aiming at one with a 4+ cover save.
Sorry if i come over as a bit aggressive, but i just cant understand how people can easily mistake a 35 point vehicle from heaven as a expensive immobile hunk of junk. Anyway, sorry for the excessive use of capital letters and i hope ive helped.

Hmm, yeah may have to down grade the cult troops to regular CSM with rhinos.
Alas I don't have much options with this army at the moment as it is something I started but didn't get much done with
So alas no Raptors.
Anyway, the first game is tonight so I'll work something out and give it a shot, or use my Eldar, not sure yet.
I'll let you guys know how it works out (I am a bit rusty from a hiatus of about 4 months)
