I would like opinion on my army. Like suggestions for new additions and any changes. And advice for fighting necrons they have been hard for me.
Lord of change
2Beasts of Nurgle
2 Blood Crushers
15 plauge Bearers
1 Daemon prince
There is an Daemon army list sub-forum, which is where this should go
That's a good selection of critters, a lot of potential.
How many points do you play typicaly? A BT, 2 Grinders, a bunch of Bloodletters and PBs with Flesh Hounds, Flamers, and Horrors running support should work fairly well.
With Necrons, bring big guys. They don't have the firepower to deal with MCs, Soul Grinders, Plaguebearers, and Bloodcrushers. Soak up their fire and eat them in combat. Ignore Monoliths and c'tan and focus on phasing out his Warriors.
you have too many HQ choices, Daemons don't get 4 HQ choices, you can take 2 heralds per 1 HQ slot but both of your slots are already taken by greater daemons. drop the special heralds
break of your unit sizes. its better to run in small units of 10 or so instad of large unit of 15 or 20. the only exception to this are demonettes as they aren't durable so they need a large unit to do well
Take upgrades. Icons in PB units, phlegm on soul grinder, if your going to take daemon princes he needs upgrades
I think he's just listing all he has.
1. Yes I was just listing what I had.
2. We usually play 2000 point games.
Any suggestions for expansion and when playing necrons do you think I should mabey pick up another DP?
If you're building a list to specifically take on Necrons, then DPs might be a good idea over Soul Grinders since gauss weapons automatically glance vehicles on a 6. Usually the advantage of Soul Grinders over DPs is that the Soul Grinder is immune to small arms fire but against Necrons that advantage is negated. I have seen Nurgle DPs with Breath work very well against Necrons.
If you can afford to buy more Bloodcrushers, do so. They are the best elite choice in the codex and better than most elite choices in ANY codex. The only problem you'll have with them is if your opponent uses the Monolith or Lord (with veil) to move the warriors around alot. If that happens use:
The Bloodthirster. He flies so catching teleporters won't be a problem. He will get shot down by an experienced opponent but with a high toughness and good armor save/invulnerable save he will be a major threat.
Use as many Bloodletters as you can. Necrons hate power weapons. No 3+ armor save and no We'll Be Back. Plaguebearers used for icon holding/holding objectives is nice too. Avoid Horrors and Daemonettes, they're useless against Necrons.
Basically stick to things that remove armor saves and perform well in close combat. That is the best way to beat Necrons and daemons have no problems in either category.
Nettes are great against crons, they cant we will be back rending and you get 60 attacks out of 20man unit, 80 on the charge. Nettes are also great suicide units. With high I characteristic you put them in front of your oppent and they're forced to assault it, or fire everything they've got into it, otherwise thats possibly 80 rending attcks coming at them next turn. I speak from experience, my 20 daemonettes landed in front of abbadons land raider, he popped abaddon out and assaulted it with 8 khorne berzerkers and died.
all basic troops for daemons (except horrors & flamers) can beat a necron warrior in combat, and with new 5th ed. they run so easily .
