Sorry this is in the wrong section, not sure if I can delete it myself or not. If someone would move this to the correct place that would be great
So I'm partnering with my nids roommate for a doubles tourny this saturday. We were planning on doing list with as many MCs as we could. He is planning on taking a dual twin-linked devourer for his one heavy support, then a barbed strangler and CC fex for elite choices. Then he'd take 8 genestealers with implant attacks and two groups of gaunts without number for objectives.
My list would be as follows.
Lord of change - 250
w/ phlegm - 160
w/ IH, MON, NT,
CoF, DG - 175
11 x PB - 165
Total - 750
Between the two of us we can only have 3 heavy support (Which is why he only has one and I have 2), each player needs at least one troop, each team only requires one HQ.
The thing I'm most worried about are power weapons, and whatever people bring to the table that can punch through my teammates carnifex armor. If needed I can try and post a more detailed list for my teammate
One thing I've been considering is switching out my plaguebearers for another kind of troop and letting the gaunts WON take care of objectives.

LoC is too expensive for what little shooting he provides. A Bloodthirster with Unholy Might and Blessing is rock solid.
Grinder and Prince look fine, though I'd look into just getting 2 Grinders for the added speed and pie plate.
PBs are fine, good combo with WON gaunts.
Tanks might present problems if you're running a bunch of footslogging MCs. BT helps a lot, but some extra punch from Fiends, Tzeentch DPs w/ bolt, Tzeentch chariots w/ bolt, or something similar would help a lot.
Unfortunately I don't have a bloodthirster or another SG, do you think a KoS would be more effective than the LoC?
KoS would do fine, same basic plan. Musk and Pavane, bounce around killing things.
Bare naked LoC is overcosted and generally won't help you out - KoS is better.
That said, my favorite GD is a massively upgraded (360 point) LoC, but he tag-teams with Fateweaver. If you do use the LoC though, just try to remember he's more than a gun platform. That's the big mistake everyone seems to make with him.
Alright, as it stands now i'm going to be using a KoS with UM and SM. A DP with mark of nurgle, IH, DG, NT, and CoF. A soul grinder with plhegm. Then 12 plaguebearers.
My teammate is going to be running a devourer carnifex for his heavy support, a blast template fex and a cc fex for his elites, a winged cc hive tyrant, and two units of gaunts WON for troops.
How's that look? We don't have as much anti-tank as I would like but I don't think there is much to do about that really.
Spambot kill tally. . .337
5 MCs is all the anti-tank you'll need.
Guardian of DMC's mighty pink thong.

Yep, it was counted as one 1500 point army.
Just as a follow up: We won all of the games except unfortunately the last one. We deployed in a bit of a foolish spot (Beginners mistake I guess). It would have been a tie except when my KoS destroyed a walker it blew up and killed him so he was no longer contesting an objective.
We actually came in 3rd place because neither of us have painted our armies yet, so we had poor paint scores. On top of that, one of the teams we played gave us a 2/5 for our army composition (We were one point behind 2nd place so that one score is what put us there)
All in all though it was a lot of fun. Especially when our opponents realized what we had.
