Well as the title says, im considering starting the chaos army, and after borrowing the codex from a friend, ive come up with what i hope is a decent enough list. Feel free to blow this appart, as i havnt got any models yet
Chaos lord with MoS, terminator armour, combi flamer and Deamon weapon. - 155
4X Terminator champions with MoK and combi flamers, in a demonicaly possesed landraider - 450
3 x 10 Chaos marines 2 X flamers, AC with PF and combi flame, riding in rhinos - 735, 245 individualy
10 Khorne bezerkers, AC with powerfist, in rhino - 285
2 defilers with 2 DCCW - 300
Ive packed a lot of flamers in this list because it seemed an interesting thing to do. the slanesh lord seemed to good to miss, and with 5 flamers they can deliver quite a lot of precharge damage. ive read a lot on the necesity of rhinos so ive included them, also bezerkers have always been a pain whenever ive fought them so ive put them in. I also thought having 2 defilers would enable me to not only put down a lot of blast templates as i move up, but then assault with 6 S10 attacks, Figured they could go infantry killing, whilst heading for a tank, then fleet and crush said tank. Thoughts?
Quite a good list, I must admit. Very anti swarm.
Defilers will blow apart any troops in the open, and it works nicely in conjunction with the mass if troops, who can clean up the survivors of the punishing bombardment.
Few things I think you need to clean up:
A) Tank hunting, I know defilers do a dandy job of spreading panic through mech lists but you need means of tank disposal from turn 1. Maybe you could boost this list to 2000pts and take a pred or oblit cult? EDIT: I didnt see the raider, Fair enough, 2 TL lases are all the long range tank busting you need. However, in anything under 2k raiders are a bit too expensive. Try deepstriking the termis and give them all combi plasmas so they can cover themselves when they arive.
B) Blissgiver & Flamer? The blissgiver is only realy good for taking down HQs & Elites (Well, that kind of goes without saying). But anyhow, Anything that makes itself a prime target for the blissgiver most probably will be untouchable by the likes of a flamer. May I suggest a combi melta? Good for knocking out a special charecters transport before moving on for the kill. If you realy are hungup on the combi-flamer, may i suggest a bloodfeeder? With so many attacks this makes your lord perfect anti infantry, but such awesome power does tempt some lords into suicide...
Otherwise, very good. Many troops will give you good board controll. Berzerkers are also perfect anti infantry. It must be said though, berserkers are very tricky to get the charge with, as many foes are awary of thier CC prowess and keep their distance. A sorcerer or DP with lash will sort this out, but without the charge IMO berserkers arent worth the points.

Fair point about the bliss giver and flamer problem, i shall change it to a combi melta. Also if the terminators are acting as a bodyguard for him, should they become combi plasmas too? ive heard people giving them a lot of love, so they sound well worth it. I had considered deep striking, but i thought if i did, any ap2 blasts, would blow me to peices, with the landraider i would be able to wait until i was in range, disembark, then assault without fear of being killed. If i should be left stranded, then at least ive got a land raider to worry the oppostion about. If i was to subtsitute it, what shuold it be for? I could take a tooled up Predator anhilator, a vindicator, or a squad of melta chosen. Theres a fair bit of choice so thoughts are appricated. Nice point about the beserkers, but i think ill just strategise round it, i realy like the models and they have an impresive stat line. I was also thinking about add kharn later so, i think theyre staying put.
The reason termis that arenet in raiders make bad guards is because you only have to options:
Option A) Deploy them with the lord in your deployment zone. Simply put, you'll never get into combat. End of.
Option B) Deep strike them. Works well for a squad of lone termis, but not guards. Simply because If you deep strike both the termis and the lord they will either deepstrike at different times or scatter away from one another. Simply put, your lord will never meet his retinue.
My Tips For Termis: (The Word MY suggests that the following must be ignored)
The best and most well known termi config is the karmoon special. It is arguably the only termi combo that can DS and survive un-aided. Instructions: DS near isolated unit, shoot isolated unit, watch owner of said unit panic and make a mess of their turn, charge said unit.
As for the lord, DS him with a unit that has just disembarked from a rhino and has an icon. The squad protects the lord and they can both charge on the next turn. Works well with zerkers, Providind you have the charge.

ohhhhh thats a shame, i realy like the idea of a raider steaming up, disgorging termies and then blasting away at some poor tank. I know that its expensive, but i think they nearly always get some decent kills in. and personaly i hate obliterators. Before everyone now punches though their screen, let me explain. Its the same reason i dont like thunderfire cannons, because one lascannon/multimelta shot and youve lost 75 points. Considering that guardsmen can have lascannon teams, they can be very easy to kill. So whilst i lose some points, i think i shall use it as is. Unless thats a terrible idea, in which case please tell me.
