Hi guys this is my 500 pts. starter list:
wind of chaos
10x marines, melta, flamer, Aspiring champion with powerfist 205
10x marines, melta ,flamer 165
i am a 40k noob so please correct me where possible
also, I want to make the army nurgle themed and give 1 unit the icon but not paying points for it and not claiming the reward ofcourse is that ok? ( just for looks )
atleast i will paint everything nurgle-ish.
Okay. the sorceror is very expensive for what he does at this points level. Drop WoC from him and give him wings.
Swap the meltas and flamers around in the troops choices, giving each one 2 of a single type of special weapon. This will work much better for you.
Alternatively, if you want nurgle themed, then use a list like the following:
7 Plague Marines
Aspiring Champion with powerfist
2 melta guns
7 Chaos Space Marines
Aspiring Champion With Combi-Plasma and Powerfist
This comes to 501 points, but I daresay most people won't mind that one point. Alternatively, at this low level game, try playing Combat Patrol. this allows you to avoid taking the HQ choice, giving you 109 points to play around with. (I recommend rhinos, as they are always helpful).
Now, this list would also allow you to build up from it easily, as it gives you 2 decent Troops Choices for Death Guard.
Hope this helps.
Rork: In the dark future of the 41st millennium there is only friendship.
Fenrir: and magic.
Kaiser-: My Little Chaos Marine, Friendship is Heresy?
it sure helps!
that list also looks fun to build! i like the nurgle themed list you came up with but i have a few questions
plague marines: can i build these from the CSM kit and just give them a lot of extra bits and bobs with greenstuff and such?
and is the mark of nurgle represented in the unit by an icon or are they just .. marked?
and why would u chose plasmas over metlas?
thanks in advance
The icons are usually represented by a banner being carried in the unit.
Normal chaos space marines need to have one in order to get the benefit.
God specific marines (plaguemarins) don’t need an Icon. If you were to use lesser daemons, the unit would need to be given a personnel Icon in order to summon them.
I modeled my icons to be banner poles coming off the backs of the squad leaders. I also built them with pins so I can swap the icons depending on what god I want the unit to follow.
I agree that playing a 40k in 40 min, or combat parole would be better at 500 points, as it lets you concentrate more on the units and not the HQ's.
