Ok so I'll be getting a chaos army soon and wanna buy models I'll actually be using. Generally I want to be able to take on any army. So here is the list
175-Choas lord with Mark of Tzeentch, Daemon Weapon, and Daemonic steed(aka disk)
I was thinking of gettin lash demon prince but I find he is a bit to cheesy so I'm goin with this guy
225-10 CSM with mark of choas glory, plasma gun, melta gun, and champ with powerfist.
This squad has to stay as it is as I already have the models put together.
250-10 Khorne Berserkers with skull champ with a powerfist.
130-Predator with lascannon sponsoons
130-Vindicator with pintl monted bolter
^bolter was an extra 5 points I had.
Transports-both roops riding in their own rhino
45-Rhino with combi-wep
45-Rhino with combi-wep
tell me what you think.
CSMs need 2 of the same special weapon. Mixing means you get problems with rappid fire & charging etc. Go for 2 meltas.
Also the HQ is a problem. He will be lascannoned and instant killed as he cannot join a unit while they are in a rhino. Drop him for a daemon prince. MoN, wings and warptime cost the same.
Quorn! - Protein for the Protein God.
Wow yeah dude grab a demon. I mean your lord is alright and all but a demon is just so much better and can potentially cost so much less and be so much moreeffective.
I suggest a daemon of nurgle because the demon already has great combative stats. Tool him up with warptime (re-roll all fails to hit and wound) and he will undoubtably make it to their front line because he is toughness 6 with 4 and can't be instantly killed anyway. Give him wings just to make sure he does.
If, however, you wish to retain his Tzeentch faith, however, give him wings, warptime and bolt of change perhaps, so he is toughness 5, can't be instantly killed, has a 4+ invulnerable improved from 5+ and can do a great shooting attack before he gets into combat, re-rolling failts to hit and wound.
Forget what everybody says about lash princes uless you want to take ordanance weapons and wish to move units closer together or out of cover and clump them together so they can be better destroyed by 2 defiler battle cannons or the like. With your set-up, don't bother.
Maybe drop the combi-weapons from the rhinos because they are transporting combat troops at maximum speed and probably won't be able to fire their combi-weps anyway. You can take it, but those points are better spent elsewhere in 1000 points.
The predator has an autocannon turret and lascannon sponsons. Perhaps you are better off taking a twin-linked lascannon turret to better destroy tanks that you will be aiming at with sponson lascannons (lascannon will do much better than an autocannon against armour 14) or switching the sponsons to heavy bolters (a great set-up for taking out skimmers or annoying infiltrating scouts) if you wish to maximise this tank's potential.
IMO, a Skull champion forgoes the +1 str and initative (making him str5 and intitiative 5 on the charge) from furious charge if he takes a power fist. Sure, he gets a str9 attack on the charge, but this is afer the enemy has a chance to strike back, and if you haven't taken enough of them out, then these attacks will be wasted because you will lose the combat anyway. So tool him up with a power weapon so he strikes at Initiative 5, str 5 +1 bonus attack for being armed with 2 CC weapons (fist and bolt pistol no longer count as +1 additional CC), meaning you are more likely to destroy what you assault or catch them in a sweeping advance, faster. Because thats what Khorne are all about; fast, devestating combat.
With bolter on the vindicator, I wouldn't bother. Any weapon destroyed you suffer renders the vehicle useless because they take out your demolisher cannon. A bolter shot or 2 isn't going to make a difference. Use these 5 points perhaps with the point you saved from combi weps to buy that Turret twin-linked Lascannon on top of your predator, and better destroy enemy armour.
Your csms are shooting and assaulting tanks? Lose the plasma gun for another melta gun and save 5 more points, and increase your tank-killing abilities of this squad.
I love the sizes of the squads. Don't change a thing about those, unless in the future in higher point games you perhaps want to put kharne with your berserkers, in which case lose a model.
TY for consulting this forum before you actually purchased the models as well. There are many wise minds here to help you on your quest to become good with a well-constructed army list. You're fighting for the right side.
Ok firstly, 1000 point chaos army is difficult because as is already discovered just fitting an HQ in is a very difficult decision. I would however go with a daemon prince. It must be winged. The mark to me should be Khorne but that is because I play Khorne, and although psychic powers are forgone, a winged MoK daemon is beastly.
Secondly, Playing undivided is one thing but playing a list like this where you are only throwing in things to win and your HQ is not neutral get a lot of people upset. Keep to one god or try to neutral it out more. Lists made to win are never fun.
As to the comment made about not using power fists.... That is insane. Khorne bezerkers are undoubtably one of the best CC units and there are few problems. I have taken Carnifexes with minimal casualties and destoyed Grey Knight terminators. Even without the skull champions atttack being present at first you will own anything lightly armoured. The power fist is there to give you the chance to put those dents in big bugs, termies, and troublesome vehicles.
I however agree with the comment made on the CSM special weapons. If you going to use them, which is dangerous. Keep there special weapons either the same or very close so they can stick to a job. They are glass cannons, but played right they can do a lot of damage. However if you want to think about it. Plasma guns are smarter. They can take a range of units and can provide covering fire for units you might see troublesome. And if you get within 12 inches you get four whoppin shots at a unit meaning that if you are firing on a tank you will still probably bust it up.
