After almost finishing my Space Marine army, I felt like getting something more evil and badass. And who fits that bill better than Chaos?
So, I made an armylist, which I would very much like you all to comment and/or criticize.
The army is primarily made for my own fun (cool figures, fun to paint, etc) and not so much for winning games, as we only play for the fun of it.
HQ: Khârn 165 points
HQ: Daemon Prince w. MoK / Wings 140 points
Elite: 4 Terminators & 1 Terminator Champion w. Reaper Autocannon 185 points
Troops: 9 Marines & 1 Aspiring Champion w. Power Weapon 180 points
Rhino as dedicated transport for the Marines 35 points
Troops: 11 Khorne Berzerkers & 1 Skull Champion w. Power Weapon 282 points
Heavy: 3 Obliterators 225 points
Heavy: Defiler 150 points
Heavy: Vindicator w. Twin-linked Bolter 130 points
All in all, that's 1497 points and 35 figures. I'm a bit unsure as to whether I have to few troops, but the main idea is to (depending on the opponent ofc) charge into the fray with the DP and the Berzerkers, while deepstriking the Obliterators and the Terminators. Also, I will probably be throwing the Marines in the Rhino to get them up close and personal asap, while the Defiler and the Vindicator bombards the enemy from afar.
Only problem, as I see it, is that Khârn may fall behind, since he's not equipped with a jump-pack and there isn't room in the Rhino for him.
Oh, and another question - does the DP have a Daemon Weapon? I can't see it in his profile, but he IS a Daemon Prince after all.
Thanks in advance,
You will want to put your zerkers in a rhino over the other marines if you don't want to point/buy 2 (they will be shot to hell otherwise).
That seems like way too many points in HQs/Heavies to me for 1500.
With so few troops you are probably going to run into a lot of trouble in scenario based missions.
Granted, you said you're just playing for fun, so if you're not trying to make real competitive armies, feel free to disregard this.
If your planning on getting cool figures to paint and all that, I think you've got a good army. Though if you were planning on winning a few games and all that I would recommend following snakebiteoverture's suggestions.
Otherwise have fun with Chaos.
I agree with Snakebite, too many points in Heavy Support and HQ and not enough Troops in my opinion- you just don't have enough troops to capture objectives. Personally I'd drop Kharn and one of the HS choices and get at least 1 more CSM squad- two if possible.
Then again if your putting them together based on what you want to paint and the look of the army then go ahead! i'm all for avoiding the tyranny of forum based army list complaince (if you dont have X, X and X you can't win!!11!!one!!!) and it may be a fun list to play with, a curiously shooty Khorne list!
PLAN CLAN MAN!!

Thanks for the feedback. I had a feeling, there was something wrong hehe.
I must admit, I have no desire to paint three squads of CSM, after painting an entire army (almost) of Space Marine infantry.
There's always the option of replacing the Obliterators with another squad of CSM, if I get tired of getting my ass handed to me on a silver plate hehe - I shall make a note of your advice and hang it on my monitor heh
Does anyone know the answer to my question about the DP and his weapon? Is he just carrying a normal weapon?
Hmm, that might be viable yeah. But is it necessary? I mean, with jump packs they will almost certainly make it into close combat in turn 2.
And yeah, DP is a MC, so he ignores armour saves. But I would like to see him with a Daemon Weapon and MoK, so he would get 2D6 attacks
Huh? Who has jump packs besides the daemon prince (wings)?
Berzerkers have jump packs, right?
Or have I completely misunderstood the codex?
