1000 Point Nurgle Army - Very First Chaos Attempt

This is my first ever attempt at a Chaos Marine Army. As normally I am a dedicated Imperial Guard Player; I've tried to make this one... a bit more "in your face". I think Plague Marines work will for this. I don't really want the pure "GRR MAIM BURN KILL" that a Khorne List gives; so maybe Grandfather Nurgle will aid me. Oh! And I posted the beginning of this Army's fluff and background in the Army Fluff forum; so hop over there! C&C Please!

Plasma rifles might be a better fit for your PMs, as Feel No Pain makes 1s much less likely to kill your plasma wielder. And without Rhinos, your men will be very exposed as they try to come to grips with the enemy. Though I guess FNP sort of counter-balances that.

Other than that, pretty good, should be a good army to scrap with.

HQ: The chaos Lord is nothing special. Just a few I5 S4 power weapon attacks. The only reason to take lords are the daemon weapons. Daemon princes are far superior. For a cheap one take MoN + doombolt or add wings and maybe warptime.

The Greater daemon is ok but you loose a 48 point champion to use it so the true cost is greater than another cheap daemon prince.

Elites: Dreads are unreliable. In dawn of war missions 2xCCW dreads are very poor, having to march on from your own table edge.

Troops: PMs should take 2 meltas and a PF or 2 plasmas (they can manage without as they tend to rappid fire more) If you don't take a PF then ditch the champion upgrade.

Heavy: Preds are better than havocs, so are obliterators.

    HQ:
I'd replace this with a winged demon prince with warptime as Mad Cat suggested. I'd also remove the greater demon (which doesn't cost 200+ pts btw) as they aren't very reliable as to when they appear, eat up a Champ, and aren't actually as good as you may hope (I used to use one in my first World Eaters army and it never pulled it's weight).

    Elites:
Again, as Mad Cat suggested, remove this model as they are very unreliable.

    Heavies:
Once again, Mad Cat hit the nail on the head. Replace Havocs with an AC/LC Pred.

    Troops:
These guys need Rhinos for survivability. Also, I'd cut them down to squads of 7, give each champ a PF and equip two meltaguns for tank busting. If you have enough extra points, add a third PM squad as they are the ones who win you games.
