Welcome to Librarium Online!
Hi, I currently have the battleforce as offered by GW with a chaos lord and wanted to build upon this army to eventually have a full 1500 points force. However, I can't afford to spend too much money on minis so I have established a budget of 300$ for the additional minis (I already have a Lord, 10 marines, 8 berzerkers and a rhino). I would also like to keep the list as fluff-friendly as possible, which means no other cult units other than the berzerkers and keeping the lord as HQ. So armed with the knowledge gained from ready some tactica from here, here is what I have compiled:
Chaos Lord: 155 (Daemon Weapon, Jump pack)
Termis: 190 (5 with 4 combi plasmas and 1 heavy flamer)
Marines: 255 (10 with 2 plasmas, champion with power fist, rhino, Chaos Glory)
Berzerkers: 248 (8, champion with power fist, rhino, personal icon)
Marines: 245 (10 with 2 meltas, champion with power fist, rhino, Chaos Glory)
Vindicator: 130 (twin-linked bolter)
Pred: 115 (Heavy Bolter sponsons and havoc launcher)
Pred: 130 (lascannon sponsons)
So fire away with any suggestions, keeping my budget in mind please (I already have the lord, 1 marine squad, a rhino and the 'zerkers). Also, if anyone could suggest a way to make the marines squad look more IW like, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

As far as the predators are concerned, I'm pretty much certain that you have to take a turret mounted weapon and the sponsons are then optional (not the other way around). I personally take the twin linked lascannon, but I have seen a lot of people take the autocannon instead in order to save some points and to also allow themselves an extra shot against weaker vehicles/flyers/walkers/light vehicle squadrons/termies or whatever. As for the havoc launcher, I'd say keep it on the dakka pred, it is usually a good choice and simply adds more shots to the already shooty platform.
Go ahead and drop the twin-linked bolter, its a wasted 5 points imo when oftentimes you will move up to six inches before firing your demo cannon in order to get the best shot possible/negate or take away a possible cover save from staying put and the bolter wont be able to fire as you shot ordnance. (rules check? Still on 4th ed a bit...)
I like the Berzerkers, you have them set up in a very common 8 man unit mounted in a rhino. I'd say drop the personal icon as it has no purpose in your current army composition. Its up to you, but I personally like to take the power weapon instead of the power fist in order to take full advantage of furious charge and instead take meltabombs for the unlikely chance you allow yourself to get charged by a walker or something of that type.
Drop the four combi plasmas in exchange for two combi-meltas and two combi-flamers. The reason for this is that when deepstriking, flamers are a much better anti-horde and meltas are a much better anti-armor choice. The fact that you only get one shot from each also reinforces that the plasma shots wont do enough to that 30 ork squad that will inevitably charge you next turn or that land raider you need dead now or that pesky monolith you just cant seem to take out. There are much better loadouts, but I am not the best to ask in regards to termies as in these low points games I tend to not bring them to the table instead wanting more Berzerkers or to pay for that second vindicator.
Jackal thanks for the advice, as for the predators, I was assuming the autocannon was standard and that it is on all of them. I found you are right about the berzerkers, but in the end I decided to exclude them from the final list. As for the terminators, I wouldn't use them as anti-tank, as they are supposed to be more of an anti-heavy infantry, and I think the heavy flamer in the squad should do the job fine against hordes with the support of other troops (as long as I deep-strike them near an Icon). Also, was toying around the idea of including Obliterators, as they seem versatile and a great anti-tank unit to deepstrike and take out a pesky tank with melta fire. So, new list would look something like this:
Chaos Lord: 145 (Daemon Weapon, Terminator armor)
Termies: 190 (5 with 4 combi plasmas, heavy flamer and chain fist)
Marines: 265 (10 with 2 plasmas, champion with power fist, rhino, Chaos Glory)
Marines: 255 (10 with 2 meltas, champion with power fist, rhino, Chaos Glory)
Vindicator: 145 (daemonic possession)
Pred: 115 (autocannon, Heavy Bolter sponsons and havoc launcher)
Obliterator Cult: 150 (2)
Land Raider: 235 (Extra Armour)
Now, as a plus, this list is much fluffier
I was trying to find a way to squeeze the Land Raider in as a transport for the Chaos Lord, and was wondering if it could be assigned to the Termies as their dedicated transport, but still have the Termies start in the reserve. Also, was short 15 points and didn't know where to put them so got the extra armour for the Land Raider, and it seems that DP for the vindicator would work well (as the BS of 3 doesn't change that much with a blast weapon).
Hey Zombiein, welcome to LO!
Last I checked, a Dedicated transport must be fielded with it's transporties. So if you have the Raider through your termies, you're going to have to put them on the field (though they can start inside it). Really I feel that having the huge mass of vehicles is truest to Iron Warriors.
Oblits are a very Iron Warriors fluffy unit. Good fit. You could use them as your DS terror squad instead of the Terminators.
Btw I'm digging the anti-infantry pred build, usually I see autocannon/lascannon variants when I come through here. the massed anti-troop fire is an interesting change, especially with the havok launcher.
Thanks for the kind welcome Alzer!
The anti-infantry build for the Pred comes from the unit tactica on this site, I decided to use it since between the Oblits, the Vindicator, the land raider and the melta squads, I have quite enough anti-tank. You are right that I should use the Oblits as the DS "terror" squad, but that still leaves me with the problem of transport for my terminator armour troops. I can either put the 5-man Termie squad in the Land Raider or the Lord, but that leaves the other unit footslogging it's way while everyone else is in a rhino. The logical thing to do I guess is put the Lord in the Land Raider since the Termies actually have decent ranged weapons.
I could remove 1 Terminator from the squad and have the Lord join them, but I don't think that's the best idea...
