It's a solid list. One suggestion: A winged sorcerer without any other fast moving infantry will undoubtedly get owned at range. You'll need some way of protecting him; I'd recommend either downgrading him to a footslogger and bunking him up in a rhino, or upgrading him to a prince.

I think Rabbit has a very good point for your sorcerer. A lone sorcerer without eternal warrior who needs LOS to use his power and can't embark on a vehicule will get shot to pieces in 1-2 turns max. A Demon prince with wings and lash will last a lot longer and cost almost the same as the sorcerer. I really do not like havoc launchers for their points cost. I would drop them to put combi-meltas instead because your list really need a melta gun or two in there against heavy armor. Obliterators help a lot but they die rather fast to lascannons and meltaguns. I try to keep my army lists fluffy as most as possible. So if I would play a HQ with the MoS at least one unit in my army would have the MoS or be Noise Marines. Everybody has his way of thinking on the subject, but of you agree with me here are a few ideas: MoS on one of the CSM squads (take the points from the havocs), drop a unit of plague marines and add 10 noise marines with sonic blasters. Instead of changing a unit to Slaneesh, you could change the HQ to Nurgle with a prince with wings, MoN, warptime and wings (really nasty). Hope this helps.

Switch the CSM to Meltas, you have no reliable anti-armor, just Lascannons. Upgrade the Sorceror to a Prince as people have said. Drop the Havocs if you need points, Rhinos never make it anywhere without taking at least a Shaken/Stunned so wasted points in my opinion. Good luck.

Thanks for the replies chaps. My Sorcerer will be attached to a PM squad. Having Wings does not prevent him from travelling in their Rhino (see m1610178_Chaos_Space_Marines_FAQ_2008-05_Edition for the clsrifcation of this). I use two legions - Word Bearers (Only IoCG), and this one, Black Legion (I'm happy to mix and match). His wings allow him to fly from squad to squad, wherever he is needed, and of course, he never operates on his own. I must admit that I have never heard or thought of 6 Lascannons with decent BS as poor anti-tank before. My CSM squads often foot-slog, and I find their Rhino-Havocs useful against hordes, and non-vehicle units in general. They have a good% chance to hit accurately, and a decent Strength. In this case, using them as Razorbacks, they deploy or move in or behind cover. I will consider Meltas for the CSM squads, therefore losing the Havocs as their Rhinos will be for transport. Lascannons aren't unreliable except against heavy armor. The 2d6 and +1 damage result REALLY help there.

I still prefer a DP for the fighting ability and drawing fire OFF Rhinos, putting nice HQs in Rhinos just makes my decision to shoot them easier. Not saying Sorcerors are really bad, just not my preference.

Though I would agree some of the squads should be meltaguns, don't the Obliterator's multi-meltas and TL meltaguns count as a good amount of anti-tank?
