Hello I am new to 40K, just got into it last week. Sorry about title I meant 1k or 1000 points. I dont know how to edit a title here.
I have decided to roll with the chaos marines using a homemade warband. Here is my initial list. Please advise, I want to be competitive against most types of foes.

HQ: 175 points

Daemon Prince
wings
warptime
MoN

Troops:

Squad 1: 256 points
7x Plague Marines
Plague Champion
Powerfist
2x Meltagun
Rhino

Squad 2: 255 points
10x Chaos Space Marines
Aspiring Champion
Combi-Melta
Powerfist
2x Meltagun
Icon of Chaos Glory
Rhino

Heavy Support:

Squad 1:
Obliterator

Squad 2:
Obliterator

Squad 3:
Defiler Standard Config (I am thinking of going with 2 ccw instead of the flamer and reaper)

Total points: 996

Any Ideas to improve?

Solid list, my only suggestion is to change the basic CSM to nurgles.

But I'm a nurgle-lover, so... I'm a bit bias.

Yeah, solid first list. Looks like you've done your homework.

And, like Serbi, I'm a Nurlge kinda guy myself, so I say, if you're going to stick with the vanilla CSM, give them something Plague Marines can't do. Keep them shooty with Plas and a H.Bolter. That'll help thin out swarms, too.

Of course, doing this, you'll want your Defiler all CCW. Then you can just run him right into your opponent's face ... and that's great fun.

It's a very solid list. The only thing I would say is defilers work better in pairs. But in this low point of an army you should be fine. But if you were to make a larger list I would consider adding another one and dropping one of the oblits to make a slot for it.

Thanks for the advice. I plan on getting another defiler eventually as my army grows but right now I am limiting things to 1000 points for the tourney.
