    New Fateweaver Lists

    I hate the Fatecrusher list, so have been looking at new ways to put him into an army. As a caveat fateweaver lists need to be a minimum of 2000pts to work effectivly;

    Fate-Nurgle;

    Fateweaver; 333pts
    Epidimus; 110pts
    Herald of Tzeentch; Bolt, Chariot, Wal, Mos - 110pts

    14xPlaguebearers; Icon, Musician - 240pts
    7xPlaguebearers; Icon, Musician - 135pts
    7xPlaguebearers; Musician - 110pts
    7xPlaguebearers; Musician - 110pts
    9xNurglings; 117pts

    DP; MoN, Iron Hide, Wings, Touch, Flies, Breath - 245pts
    DP; MoN, Iron Hide, Wings, Touch, Flies, Breath - 245pts
    DP; MoN, Iron Hide, Wings, Touch, Flies, Breath - 245pts

    2000pts

    Epidimus goes with the big PB group, Fateweaver with the three DP's - he's there as a AV killer, and to keep the DP's alive as the cut through squads and get the tally up.

    Any other decent fateweaver builds?

    The list looks alright (it's definitely an interesting approach), but my cousin plays a lot of Epidemus lists, and he always puts Epidemus with the the Daemon Princes, not the plaguebearers. The PBs can't really get the tally up quickly on their own, but the princes can, and it always seems to serve him well (he has creamed me on more than one occassion using this strategy).

    So in short, I'd either switch the Fateweaver and Epidemus, or simply move Epidemus over with the Daemon princes. Either way, Epi needs to be with the Princes, and they need to be the preferred wave. Otherwise the tally won't go up fast enough.

    Also, take into consideration that Fateweaver's re-roll doesn't apply to FNP, so although they'll be more resilient, it won't be as resilient as you might think.

    As for other other Fateweaver list ideas, I've been toying around with dropping him in the same wave as 4 other monstrous creatures (3 princes and 1 greater daemon) or 3 princes and 2 chariots, to get the most advantage out of the re-roll to saves. In the end, however, this probably isn't that much different from the bloodcrusher strategy that won Ard Boyz the year before this one.

    Why would you put Epi with the DPs? He can't join them since they're MCs so he's going to stick out and be an easy target. And there isn't a rule where epi needs to be near nurgle units for there kills count or to get a bonus from the tally, Epi can be any where for the tally to count. The point is to put Epi in the PB unit so that he will never die so that the tally will always be in effect. The DPoN can go off on their own and take care of business

    Hmm...well I mainly play Orks against his daemons (because daemons vs daemons gets very confusing), so he usually doesn't worry too much about Epi. He just hides him out of sight, and attached to a small unit of plaguebearers.

    Basically, he does everything possible to get the tally up as quickly as possible, and getting all the princes out immediately is the best way to do it. I don't know if he's used Epidemus any other way.

    Then again, I don't know if it's the strategy he'd use in every situation, or just when facing Orks. It seems to work pretty well though.

    Fateweaver won't let you re-roll FNP and you're still suffering from all the problems an Epi army has (little shooting, reliant on 3 models to carry the entire army, PBs suck no matter how big the tally is).

    Sticking the big fraidey chicken with a bunch of Fiends and Flesh Hounds would be neat, knocking back their biggest weakness, the 5+ save.

    Fiends was going to be my next list!

    It would be called, funnily enough Fiendweaver;

    Fateweaver; 333pts
    Herald of Tzeentch; Chariot, Bolt, Wal, Mos - 110pts
    Herald of Tzeentch; Chariot, Bolt, Wal, Mos - 110pts

    6xFiends; Might - 190pts
    6xFiends; Might - 190pts
    6xFiends; Might - 190pts

    5xPB; 75pts
    5xPB; 75pts
    5xHorrors; Changeling, Bolt - 100pts
    5xHorrors; Bolt - 95

    10xHounds; Karnak, Fury - 195pts
    10xHounds; Fury - 160pts

    DP; MoT, Bolt, Gaze - 160pts

    He follows behinds the fiends, tries to cover as many units as possible while blasting AV10-12 vehicles.

    Your second one with fiends looks juicy.

    Yeah adding fateweaver to a nurgle list could be fun, but that's just it, only fun, it still wouldn't be very competitive.
    Dark Eldar: 13-wins/ 0-draws / 3-loss
    Imperial Fists SM: 4/1/4 1500 Annan 190th IG: 9/1/2 - retired
    Chaos Daemons: 3/0/2 (stupid Null-zone)
