    Hi,
I am looking at starting a Chaos Daemons army for casual play with my boyfriend and at the local club.
I am trying to sort out a good all rounder list as my boyfriend has Orks and Imperial Fist and his nephew has Imperial Guard, they mainly have Space Marines at the club and one member uses Nids.
If my army list is no good can you please let me know, as I am trying to sort a goodish list out before I buy the army.

First of all, why would you not spend the remaining points? There is no reason to not spend them, especially that many

Also your Chariots are the wrong point cost, they're 110 for all of the upgrades

Drop tongue from the Grinders. at BS3 and already taking phlegm (which is a must) its just too expensive. Besides they come with S10 close combat attacks from the DCCWs, use those to rip open tanks

Get more Fiends. They are amazing and work better in larger units of 5-6

Bloodletters are great, but i would suggest taking 2 small units of Plaguebearers to cap objectives and tarpit.

All in all, it's a good list

You suggest taking 2 small units of Plaguebearers to cap objectives and tarpit, I thought for the extra few points having 2 Troops of 5 Pink Horrors so i could shoot at the enamy will they were heading towards the objective i was sitting on and 2 troops of 5 Bloodletters as it seems like they can do more damage in close combat then the PlagueBearers as i read it in the codex (Please put me right if i'm wrong).
    Was this a good idea?

    Not really

The point of Plaguebearers is to sit their and absorb damage. That's why they are so great at capping objective and not great at dealing damage. I suggested them because of this. Your army has plenty of ways to deal damage, not ways absorbing it and garenteeing the objective

Your alternatives isn't going to do diddly at capping the objective because non-Nurgle Daemons are very fragile. 5 Pinks are going to be desimated very easily. 10 Bolter Space marines on average will kill 4 Pink Horrors while the Pink Horrors won't return the favor in equivelent damage. Not going to last a turn much less hold an objective

Bloodletters will suffer the same problem. The same durabilty as Pink Horrors but have to run head first into the enemy to even chance dealing damage. And since they deep strike they have to take a turn of shooting before getting a chance to deal damage.

Plaguebearers have a different job from the rest of the army. They absorb damage and don't die. They aren't going to deal damage because they aren't suppose to. Like I said, i suggested them because they are going to do a job that your list doesn't have. at T5 with 5++ and FNP they won't be moving. The best thing to do is drop them in cover and the go to ground, They should have a 3+ cover AND FNP. Just amazing and great for capping objectives. And if you do anihilation instead they are still worth because they won't give up their kill point. They may not take a KP but an shots at them will be wasted and not fired at your fragile units that will be taking KPs.

Also, daemons infantry is just not strong enough to be such small units. MSU just about never works for daemons, we're just to fragile. They need unit sizes of 10+ to not die in a single turn. When i was suggesting a small unit of Plaguebearers, i was thinking 7-8.

So i highly suggest the plaguebearers.

p.s. You can ALWAYS find something to spend left over points on. You can buy worthless junk and it will still be better then not using the points. For the 1995 pt list, buy an Instrument of Chaos to make it an even 2000. I'm sure you can find something for 35 points

Deathstrike isn't really worth the points, Unholy Might is much better in the long run. I'd also drop the instrument; you'll rarely tie combat (if ever), so drop it.

I either run smaller units, or much larger - I'd have one large unit of Bloodletters, at least 15, and invest in either more bearers, or look to put the points else where.

    Plaguebearers of Nurgle
    X5 w/ Noxious Touch

Drop Noxious Touch, give each unit a insturment instead.

    Good.

You're list is ok, but feels like it's still looking for something. With the spare 90 points from dropping five bloodletters and instrument, I'd get another unit of plaguebearers, or maybe 6 hounds.
