So I think that I am going to be doing the 1k Sons for my next modeling project, and have been kicking around this as the skeleton to my army:
1850 Pts - Chaos Marines Roster - 1k Sons
HQ: 2 x Daemon Prince - 370
. . Wings, Mark of Tzeentch, Doombolt, Warptime
Elite: 3 x Dreadnought- 300
. . 2 x CCW
Troops: 3 x 7 Thousand Sons - 693
. . . . 3 x 1 Aspiring Sorcerer - Doombolt
Heavy Support: 3 x Defiler - 450
. . 2 x CCW
Total Roster Cost: 1813
Which leaves me sitting on 37 points, with no idea of what to use them on, or how effective this is going to be. It does seem to be a very fun project, as I plan on kit bashing plenty of Tomb Kings to use with the Space Marine parts...
I am a predominantly Fantasy player, so anyone with some more insight into this would be greatly appreciated for their thoughts and help!

Elites: I hate CCW dreads. In dawn of war missions they suck. Even getting TL-AC on them is better to give you a little anti rhino firepower without too much risk to your own troops. I think I would prefer 2 cheap termie units to deepstrike off unit icons from your transports with a few combiplasma and the odd PF.
Troops: Good. Adding combimeltas on the rhinos is a nice use as the 1Ksons are purely anti infantry and having an empty rhino with a melta approach enemy tanks will divert firepower away from your defilers.

Plus, I really want to see 1k Sons termies all modeled up. I've been considering the Sons (and the Alpha Legion, and the Emperor's Children...) as a secondary project after I finish my Nurgle warband, and it'd be awesome to see someone else's take on the Egypto-Future theme!
