    1500ish Tzeentch army

    Hi,
so I was thinking of a list I'd like to play and also be able to compete.. My favorite models are the Thousand sons so I came up with this:

    HQ
1x Daemon prince (MoT, Wings, Warptime) - 150
    1x Chaos sorcerer (MoS, Lash) - 125

    Elite
4x Chaos terminator (Power fist, Heavy flamer, 3x combi melta) - 150

    Troops
    7x Thousand sons, Aspiring sorcerer (Doombolt),icon + Rhino -271
    7x Thousand sons, Aspiring sorcerer (Doombolt),icon + Rhino -271
    9x Chaos space marines, 2xMelta + Champion w/PowerFist & combi melta, icon, Rhino - 245

    Heavy support
Defiler (extra CCW, heavy flamer) - 150
Chaos predator (TL autocannon + Lascannon sponsons) - 130

    Total 1492

Idea is charge with the rhinos to bolter range for 1000s inferno bolts. CSM for tank hunting, supported by the predator (low priority tank killer). Defiler to help with hordes and draw fire from rhinos. DP following the rhinos and intervening where necessary. Deepstriking Termi unit for getting rid of big threats. Sorcerer to hide in one of the 1000s units, using the lash or adding a force weapon for CC.
Not much of an original design, but I guess it should work and keeps me with the thousand sons theme. I'd like to add a 1000s Dreadnought for fluff but just can't find place for it

So what do you think about the setup?

I used quite a similar list but with Oblis instead of the Defiler/Predator, one single Defiler or Predator will be picked apart quickly, try to get more then one.
Maybe use slightly smaller 1ks Squads? And give the DP Bolt of Change or Doombolt together with the Warptime.
    Do the CSMs get IoCG?
Otherwise I like the list and its fun to play with.

Got to agree, I'd go two Defilers. Predators don't aid your advance and don't draw meaningful fire off Rhinos. I'd say drop to another Lash Prince for the points but your Lash Prince lacks wings, which is a big deal. I think I'd drop the Termies and the Icons, give both Princes wings, upgrade to a Defiler and slap Combi-Meltas on all the Rhinos, which helps cover up the Termie loss. If you have points left, demons are an under-rated choice, especially in an assault light list.

For starters I have to say that Daemon Prince is not 150pts, it's 175 pts. If you went with only MoT and Wings it would be 150 pts.

My advice when it comes to 1500pt games is to spam in one direction. My favourite is to spam with heavy vehicles because that will prove the enemy AT-weaponry insufficient.

If you want to go pure Tzeentch I would get the rock hard daemon Prince with Mark of Tzeentch, Wings, Warptime and Wind of Chaos. That evil sucker can put the hurt on anything, but he comes down at 205 pts.

Thousand Sons lack three things: they're crap in close combat, they doesnt bust armour and they can't handle hordes. This is what you design your Sorcerer towards. If you have flamers and CC-specialists elsewhere you give him Bolt of Change, etc. etc.
My advice here is that you give him Warptime so he can kill some space marines in CC. Your sons will taget marines - that's what they do. So the marine player will try to close the distance fast and get into the safety of CC. Also Bolt of Change can be very usefull for busting transports and get those marines out into the open.

Take Defilers. They can tie up units in CC so the Sons dont have to, and they can drop pie plates on the hordes.
heres my take on your army:

    Daemon Prince
Mark of Tzeentch, Warptime, Wind of Chaos, Wings
    [205 pts]

    Karmoon special
    4 Terminators (120 pts)
3 Combiweapons, 1 Heavy flamer and 1 Power fist (30 pts)
    [150 pts]

    Thousand Sons
6 Rubric marines with Rhino (173 pts)
1 Sorcerer with Bolt of Change (85 pts)
    [258 pts]

    Thousand Sons
6 Rubric marines with Rhino (173 pts)
1 Sorcerer with Bolt of Change (85 pts)
    [258 pts]

    Thousand Sons
6 Rubric marines with Rhino (173 pts)
1 Sorcerer with Bolt of Change (85 pts)
    [258 pts]

    Defiler
    2 close combat weapons
    [150 pts]

    Defiler
    2 close combat weapons
    [150 pts]

    Army total:
    1429 pts

you even got 71 pts to spend on what you want.
