    need a list for fighting orks 1500 points

    hi everyone out there, this site has been very helpfull in the past and I need some help for building a list against a ork player.Ii've never won a single game against him and I feel that its due to my list. if its not much trouble, could somone make me a list out of the things that I have already.

    I have the following models

    1 chaos termi lord w/ twinlinked bolter and demonic looking weapon

    1 chaos sorcerer w/ wings

    5 terminators, one w/ chainfist and autocannon, one w/ combi flamer, one w/combi melta, and one with powerfist

    20 khorn bezerkers, two have plasma pistols

    5 possesed

    one defi w/ autocannon and havoc launcher

    one rhino

    one land raider

    20 normal chaos marines, one w/ heavy bolter, one w/ flamer, one w/ meltagun, one w/plasma gun, one aspiring w/ plasma pistol and power weapon, one aspiring w/ plasma pistol and power fist, one w/ khorn icon and one w/ slannesh icon

    and 5 random troops, one w/ flamer, one with powerfist, one w/ powersword.

    if its any help i know that the ork player always takes gazgil thraka with a retinue of nobs that ride in a battlewagon. he also takes old zagwort or a weirdboy

    if somone could make me a list, they would have my eternal gratitude.

    In my opinion you're missing key models that should be in the core of every Chaos army.
    -Daemon Prince with wings - More rhino's - Obliterators

    My initial thoughts on only using what you have, should hopefully be what you're already using. Termi-lord with MoK and Daemon Weapon, in the landraider with 8 beserkers. One rhino of beserkers (no plasma pistols, champ with power weapon). Also a unit or two of regular marines one with meltas, one with flamers. Might look something like this :

    HQ
    Chaos Lord - 160
    *Terminator Armor
    *Mark of Khorne
    *Daemon Weapon
    *Personal Icon

    Elite

    3 Terminators - 140
    *IoCG
    *1x Heavy Flamer + Chainfist
    *1x Combi-plasma + powerfist
    *1x Combi-plasma

    Troops
    8 Beserkers - 198
    *Skull Champion with Power Weapon

    7 Beserkers - 237
    *Skull champion with Power Fist
    *Personal Icon
    *Rhino with Combi Melta

    *2 Meltaguns (ask the guy nicely if you can proxy the plasmagun as a melta)

    Total - 1500

    The lord and 8 beserkers in a landraider - have an icon on the lord to deepstrike the Terminators onto. The beserkers in a rhino also have one, incase you need to deepstrike the terminators elsewhere, you are versatile.

    Follow the general rule of thumb to double up on special weapons on your marine squads, if he fields little/no armor, plasmas will be more beneficial than meltas. However heavy mech obviously needs more meltas. The same goes for the combi weapons on the terminators, meltas/plasmas/flamers - whichever you feel you need more of, however you want to use your terminators.

    On a side note, remove the Havoc Launcher from your defiler and fit the extra ccw on him, you cannot fire the battlecannon and any other weapon, so you only need that one ranged weapon; if you lose it, fleet.

    Also drop every plasma pistol you have, they're not worth it.

    I'd like the 8-berzerker champion with a power fist, not a power weapon. The fist is a good anti-MC which can be saving. You should worth more your 8-man squad, than the 7-one.

    What MCs will he be facing vs orks? I do agree though to swap out the PW for a PF for nob killing power if he does take a full unit.

    Agree with the list above except for the PW - change to a PF so that unit has more anti armor/instakill potential. As well, drop the MoK on the lord. Not being able to attack 1 in 3 turns is bad and the +1 str vs orks will turn out to help a lot wounding easier. You dont need a high volume of attacks from the daemon weapon since you have zerker escorts who will provide all the dice.

    Thank you all for the help so far. this list that Hybirdchaos made is what im going to run against my opponent, though I do want to add, do play a slannesh themed army and i was thinking about taking the slannesh daemon weapon to kill any nobs that come my way. I do like the idea of taking powerfists in my bezereker squads to counter the powerclaws in the ork boyz units as well as stopping any tanks.

    I do have a problem, the ork player proxxys all his nobs with powerclaws when they only have choppa's, so if i play wysiwyg, he has a flaw in his force, but if i do cannot proxxy anything like combi plasma's in my termi unit, or that extra meltagun in my marine unit. please, any advice on the matter would help me out.

    I don't see a reason why anyone wouldn't let you proxy something tiny like that

    As for the above comments about PF>PW, the thought process goes into an age old arguement about which is better. Personally I prefer the PW because I always ensure I get the charge and wasting those I5 swings makes baby jesus cry. My general rule of thumb is 2 PW to one PF (on beserkers only). My plague marines all have PFs.

    Personal preference really, valid reasons for both

    I hadn't seen the title "fighting orks". However, the fist can also be useful against trukks, a warboss, bikes, or nobs, just as you said.

    some good advice using what you have, but you should be looking at grabbing a Deamon prince to replace your lord. you should be looking to get rhino's for all your infantry.

    double up special weapons in squads, i do not like using plasma gun in space marine squads because you lose the power to charge if you fire them, so melta's or flamers work best. plasma guns are great on plague marines as they have defensive grenades.
