I'm looking to compose a Chaos Daemon army based on Khorne and Tzeentch. Why those two? Well, I have a very direct style of play (described as "perfectly suited for orks"), but a Khorne-only army would be lacking in ranged attacks.
This is the first draft of a 1750-point army, but elements should be possible to use also in smaller armies (I play 500, 750, 1000 and 1500 point battles in addition to 1750)
Herald of Khorne 135 (Juggernaut, Blessings of the Blood God, Fury of Khorne, Unholy Might)
Herald of Tzeentch 115 (Bolt of Tzeentch, Master of Sorcery, Breath of Chaos)
Bloodthirster 270 (Death Strike)
10 Bloodletters 200 (Chaos Icon, Unholy Might)
10 Pink Horrors 200 (Chaos Icon, The Changeling)
8 Flamers 310 (Bolt of Tzeentch)
8 Bloodcrushers 335 (Unholy Might)
10 Flesh Hounds 185 (Karanak)
skip the herald of khorne and add another tzerald
remove breath from the tzerald, ad legion and chariot to both tzeralds
remove death strike and add unholy might for instant death to many characters even after furious charge
add a couple bloodletters more if you want to use them think closely about using icons or not. i go comepletly without after playtesting it alot with all from 3 icons in the army through 2 and 1 to having no icons in my army.
consider adding plaguebearers for objective sitting as theyre some of the best troops at what they do, but if you insist on staying tz/khorne then add more troop choices. two troop choices in 1750 is not enough... i'd add 10 more horrors and then maybe divide the total 20 horros into four units.
8 flamers are alot, can work though alot of people only take three for suicide...
divide the bloodcrushers into two units as 8 is a hell of alot of bloodcrushers and generallly not needed, plus theyve got probably the largest deep strike footprint in the game...
remove the hounds as theyre useless imo...
consider your heavy support choices, right now your only large-lascannon-deserving unit is bloodthirster = he will take all the heat = he will die fast. If you add either soul grinders or daemon princes your opponent has to divide his shooting and hope or only take one out while the rest are left to roam. I'd add two daemon princes with MoT and bolt and one prince with mark of khorne, iron hide, wings if you want to stay with your theme...

Made another attempt, still without Nurgle, but more Tzeentch-oriented than the previous suggestion. I removed the dogs, added some more pink horrors, reduced number of flamers and blood crushers, replacing the herald and adding princes - 1748 points total. Still maybe a bit light on the troops?
Trying to think about roles to each unit: Still got the blood thirster, he will probably draw all heavy fire to him while he lives - thus giving bloodchrusers (two small units) time to take out enemy infantry.
Three small units of pink horrors with bolt should take out enemy light tanks and transports, along with the Heralds and Tzeenth Prince.
Using Instrument of Chaos on all the troops and bloodcrushers, could skip them all to make room for two more bloodletters - I don't know if that is useful.
I see that a unit of Plaguebearers would be very useful for objective sitting, so maybe I should replace the bloodletters with that - except that I like the idea of themes.

think you troops are fine, would drop all the instruments though, instruments are only worth anything on bloodcrusher and thats for cheap wound allocation... hq and elite look fine as well, would reconsider your heavy:
khorne prince: get him iron hide or make him a tzeentch prince with bolt...
tzeentch prince: skip daemonic gaze as its not power enough for its points on him and youll be hunting transports with him most of the time. skip master of sorcery as its useless on him right now, he can allready use two shooting abilities as he's a monstrous creature...
skipping MoS and gaze gives me enough points to get iron hide, so thats no problem. Skipping the instruments gets me two bloodletters... or, I can skip both iron hide and instruments to get daemonic flight on the Khorne prince.
But seems to be settling enough to start thinking about getting the models...
