There is a 40k in 40 mins tournament Sunday, and going by those I know who will be attending, I could possibly face nothing but 3+ save armies.
Lieutenent, MOCU, Crozius, bolt pistol, bike with plasma gun, bionics. ( 136 )
6 Chaos Space Marines, MOCU, 2 plasma guns. ( 110 )
Rhino, extra armour, smoke. ( 58 )
6 Daemonettes. ( 90 )
Total: 394 points.

Looks ok, but wit that 3 pts give your rhino smoke, u drive up 12 pop smoke, then unload and charge next turn.
400 pts wow hehe... i mean it looks alright, rhino is a really good idea because at 400 points u wont be going agianst to much heavy so it should make it lol. Daemonette are also a nice little choice because when u start they cant tell how many points is in the tank so they might not expect a squad of daemons waiting. When i find you play at 500 points luck and strat is a huge factor because evey die roll counts. The army has a nice balance. But since it is only 400 points and if luck is agianst you your daemons may never come out and in a small game like this.. im sure that will be very bad. But this is a WB army and it would be silly not to take daemons so really its up to you.
400 points could work in your advantage. But I found that having a tooled-up lieutenant could be good or bad. I personally think the bike would be overkill.
In smaller games, the more power-weapons you pack, the better it is. For that reason, a few bloodletters would murder most opponents.
The daemonettes are really the weakest point in the list- their randomness could really hurt, and given that there is so few of them, I'll only average three and a bit rending attacks per turn if I charge. Against a squad of marines, they'd die. However, the HQ would be supporting them most of the time. The rhino is heavily converted and a real focus, most players shoot at it even when there are bigger threats because of this.Originally Posted by Khamal
The rhino is next- AV 11 isn't all that good, anything greater than a bolter will harm it. If I was to improve it, I'd dedicate it to Tzeench- but again, rhinos are only there to get things an extra six inches in the first turn, they don't last long.
at 400 points with word bearers, you are going to have to put most of your eggs in 1 basket.
to keep with the fluff, you could drop the rhino and the bionics and bolt pistol
buy 3 more daemonettes and split them up into 2 squads of 5. and then with the spare 15 points. you could buy your aostle a plasma pistol.
or again-keep the bionics and upgrade to a melta gun on his bike.
either way you now have 2 chances to get the daemonettes in, and the possibility of attacking 2 units per turn. and ur leader has an anti tank weapon.
the other thing to consider maybee to take the safe melta gun options with your marines as with only 6 men-getting hot could be disasterous.
hope it helps.
I played a 500 point tourny once, and fared okay- I took Death Guard, with a lieutenant who had a manreaper and flight. More than a little nasty, trust me! He made his points back in every game, however died in every game from being left alone in the open after wiping a squad off the table... the only thing I really fear are S8 weapons and other characters. Which are, honestly, the real point behind the daemonettes...Originally Posted by Iron Warrior w/ Servo ArmThanks.Originally Posted by deathmonkey
I've taken one of your suggestions, that is, giving the bike a weapon, and I dropped a daemonette to pay for it. As someone else suggested, the rhino now has smoke to make it last that little bit longer.
