Had a bit of an epiphany today regarding my EC army and my lordette ( lady if u will), so heres a new list i through together , tell me what yall think I believe it is rather sneaky, just alittle paranoid someone will through a rule at me that will disrupt it all.
Before i start, before anyone says 'More sonic blaster'. I know they are great and all, but i live in australia and our GW direct doesnt sell just the blaster guns, so i have to buy a whole unit of EC just to get one sonic blaster and one blastmaster. I do included them but not on mass. If any aussies know where i can get them cheap without having to order overseas, ne info would be greatly appreciated.
Just a little info, im going for a short ranged close combat version of Slaneesh, little worried about not enough tank stopping power, any ideas would be welcomed.
Enough yap, this is it
-Minor Psychic powers X 6
( yes times six, sounds insane, but by paying the 60 points, ur chance of rolling the siren power as one of ur powers is extremely high , Unless of course u roll lots of ones, lets hope not, but if ur getting my thinking, what u do is fly her around ether lancing pretty much anything u come across and dropping squads of daemonettes whereever suits u, the best part is, no one can target you!!! unless there full of good psykers, ur pretty much safe.)
6 Bolter Marines
6 Bolter Marines
6 possesed marines
10 combat marines
-lightening claws/spiky bits
So what we all think, wiley little sorceress or what?
Fingers crossed thats a legal move
I think that the siren tactic is a really cheap move and I wouldn't ever try it, but it's a perfectly legal option to take. I'll be the one laughing hardest when someone tries after spending 70 points on powers and still doesn't roll siren. You are allowed to try this if you want. However, you have spent 155 points on upgrades that are eligable to count towards the 150 point limit. Someone will rant at me for saying that, saying how various pieces do and don't count, but you are wrong:
Ether Lance: Although a weapon, counts as it is in a separate list from the rest of the weapons. Goes towards gifts too, being a daemon weapon.
Flight: Counts towards Deamonic gifts and wargear.
Talisman: Doesn't go towards either, not included in tally up.
Aura: Daemonic Gift, also wargear.
C Drugs: Gift of the gods. Wargear and daemonic gifts.
6 Minor Powers: Does not go towards the 100 point daemonic gift limit, it does go towards the 150 point limit. This is the point that most people will disagree with. If you read the boxed section on p.16, although it is very badly worded minor powers from the gifts of the gods sections do count as wargear, just not daemonic gifts.
Whoa, that really took it out of me. So much so that I can't write much on the rest of the list. I would have loved to suggest getting more sonic blasters but you said you can't get hold of them. Make sure you have favoured units, and give all of your AC's power weapons and d.strength. Not power fists.
Well, other than being cheap, it is indeed perfectly legal. And very effective. Things to look out for -Originally Posted by Alaitoctunited
I'm sure there's other ways of combating it, but those are the first three that pop into my head. I have to ask why bother with the Combat Drugs?
- Psychic Choir 'Nids
Tzeentch armies with a Warp Blade
Psychic HoodsFlight? No no no no... Rhino. Take Talons instead.Originally Posted by AlaitoctunitedVery nice. Extra Armor for the Rhin, and smoke launchers.Originally Posted by AlaitoctunitedDaemonettes are nice. The Havocs probably don't need the Sonic Blasters - consider moving them to a different squad. Since they're your anti-tank, the SB are wasted.Originally Posted by Alaitoctunited
No veteran skills at all? Infiltrate for the marines, Tank Hunters for the Havocs. Infiltrate for the Sorceress.Well, atleast you saw it coming. :lol:Originally Posted by monsieurcartier
Marks, Weapons, Veteran Skills, Psychic powers don't count against wargear at all. So sayeth the holy grail FAQ on the UK site. (One linked by Knape)
But you are correct that the Siren trick is very cheap, and can easily fail, leaving you SoL.
These two picked up most of the comments I was going to post.
However...Check Emperorschildren.net. There's a ton of Aussies on there (I think it may even be Aussie-run), and they're always talking about trading or selling spare EC parts. Check around on there; I'm sure you'll find some SBs and BMs at low-cost.Before i start, before anyone says 'More sonic blaster'. Gah. Damn FAQ. There's always something in that you miss. Well, I'm not gonna argue. I can't even find the damn thing now.Originally Posted by Caluin
If you go onto bolter&chainsword, in the 'the ruinous powers' section there's a pinned topic called 'monolith of the gods' which is a list of useful threads, one of which details how you can make your own sonic weapons. Some of the suggestions are pretty good. And cheap, which can rarely be a bad thing. Unless the item in question is toilet paper.
thanks for the advice, bolter and chainsaw gave me some hella good ideas, now the hip pokcet wont have to suffer as much as i thought
