    [1850] Black Legion (Havoc Heavy)

I wanted to do something a bit different with this army. I kept toying with the idea that Havocs are basically just Marine squads with more options for heavy and assualt weaponry. And since I like my plasma and melta guns, I wanted to see what I could do.

    HQ
    Lord
    • Mark of Nurgle
      Plague Sword
      Daemonic Strength
      Daemonic Aura
      Daemonic Speed
      Damonic Visage
      Infiltrate
      Frag Grenade
      Spiky bits
    166 points

    Leiut.
    • Mark of Khorne
      Beserker's Glaive
      Feel No Pain
      Frag Grenades
    106 points

    Troops
    3 Nurgling Bases
    30 points

    3 Nurgling Bases

    Heavy Support
    7 Havocs + 1 Aspiring Champ
    • 8 Marks of Nurgle
      Infiltrate
      4 Plasma Guns
      3 Bolters
      Plague Sword + Bolt Pistol
    264 points

    7 Havocs + 1 Aspiring Champ
    • 8 Marks of Nurgle

      4 Plasma Guns
      3 Bolters
      Plague Sword + Bolt Pistol

    7 Havocs + 1 Aspiring Champ
    • 8 Marks of Nurgle
      Infiltrate
      4 Melta Guns
      3 Bolt Pistols + CCW
      Plague Sword + Bolt Pistol
      Daemonic Strength
      Daemonic Mutation
    284 points

    Elites
    5 Havocs + 1 Aspiring Champion
    • 6 Marks of Slaanesh
      4 Blastmasters
      2 Sonic Blasters
      Tank Hunters
    235 points

    5 Havocs + 1 Aspiring Champion
    • 6 Marks of Slaanesh
      4 Blastmasters
      2 Sonic Blasters
      Tank Hunters
    235 points

    5 Havocs + 1 Aspiring Champion
    • 6 Marks of Slaanesh
      4 Blastmasters
      2 Sonic Blasters
      Tank Hunters
    235 points

Total = 1849. That leaves one point to play around with.

Here's the breakdown. The Leiut. is there to just look scary. His job is to draw the first turn's worth of fire. If he makes it into CC, bully for him. I'm hoping someone sees "B. Glaive!" and aims to just gun him down. It's a one trick pony that I might remove from the list to free up around 100 points.

The Nurglings are there because I needed two troop choices. If I drop the Leiu, I can upgrade them to Daemonettes.

The Lord is your run of the mill CC type. If he takes out a MC, then that's great. Only 50 points in Gifts, so not considered a Daemon.

Now on to the Havocs. The Nurgle marked squads are to infiltrate and gun down as many guys as they can, as quickly as they can. The Melta gun squad can get into CC if needs be, and the Champ can hold his own. If only one tank is present, they'll set up near it and attempt to Melta gun it dead. If there are more tanks, the rest are left to the other Havocs.

The Slaaneshi marked squads is something I wanted to play with for quite some time. Four strength eight blast templates from each squad a turn? Pinning too? Yummy! I'm thinking of removing the Aspiring Champs. Seems wrong to not have a champion for each unit though.

Comments? Questions? Concerns? It's more of a fun army than a proper list... but I think it'd really hold it's own vs. all comers.

I would recommend dropping the lord and fill up on nurglings. Make the lieu Nurgle, in Termie Armour, with Kai Gun. This way, you have very shooty havocs, and lot's of speed bumps in the nurglings.
