Very nice and simple upgrade from 1000p.

I honestly believe you would do well to give a unit wind of chaos over a bolt of change.

You lack hidden power fists, these have turned out to be a gamewinner for my thousand sons.

What do you intend to do against a land raider?

I have to say for competitive purposes I'm more of a fan of Powerfists that Bolt of Change on an Aspiring Champion. Bolt of Change may be a lot more fluffy, but I find that the Aspiring Champions with hidden powerfists are more useful for increasing the CC power of the squad.

An example of what I'm talking about is this:

Your squad shoots at a Dreadnought/Monstrous Creature, trying to use Bolt of Change to take it down, and misses or fails to damage or wound it sufficiently (not impossible). The next turn you are charged by the Dreadnought/MC, and your squad is tied up with something that it cannot really hurt...the Greater Daemon/ Wraithlord/ Whatever proceeds to maul half your squad.

However with the hidden Powerfist, you lose the shooting attacks, but you gain the 3 S8 attacks in CC per turn, and your opponent has to get rid of probably 17 wounds before he can kill that Aspiring Champion. That way you get to do a lot more damage, and even if you fight not so powerful opponents, the Powerfist helps to rip through things like Striking Scorpions or Necrons. It really adds to the power of the squad, and makes it a lot more difficult to tie your squad up with good armour saves.

Anyway, thats just my opinion, act or don't act on it how you see fit.

However with the hidden Powerfist, you lose the shooting attacks,
Why? A power fist and bolt of change are not mutually exclusive if one can spare the points - and that should easily be possible.

I even use a master crafted power fist with mutation. Sometimes even spiky bits.

Generally I've noticed people tend to do one or the other, it's not against the rules of course, it's just.........not normally done.

If you can afford both great, but I don't know how you'll manage it in a 1500pt list.

Well, hidden pwoer fist does seem a good idea, although I want to really try and avoid CC except for with my Terminators. I guess a CC support squad would be better, so on one of my Bolt of Change Squads (the one with least Thralls) I'll remove all the Thralls and Bolt of Change, and instead give the Champion a Power Fist, Wind of Chaos and a Teleport Homer. This way I've got my CC support squad, a lot of short range shooting, and they can call in the Terminators directly? This a good or bad idea?

What do you intend to do against a land raider?
That is my main problem, but enough Bolts of Change can bring it down or I can ignore it. It may have a terrible time trying to pay it's points back...although those Lascannons instant-kill my precious Rubrics!

Three rubric marine squads will be more than enough for 1500pts. If one gets dropped, this frees enough points to equip the asp champs with BoCs and close combat weaponry. A predator would also fit into the points then, which is direly needed against enemy tanks.

Generally i find vehicles to be very viable in a TS army, more than in any other legion. Any S8+ weapon fired at a vehicle is one less such weapon fired at a rubric marine, and vice versa.

If you have a problem with a LR, you could always spend 20 points from somewhere and give your Aspiring Champions all meltabombs.

Oddly, the only thing I can think of cutting is the Dreadnought, and I love Dreadnoughts...usually I'd never leave home without them. However the strength of your army is in the troops, not from your Dread. Also taking a single AV12 Vehicle means theres one target on the board to stand up to all the enemy's anti-tank weapons, it's not hard to crack it first turn. Grey Knight players will tell you about the problems of a single Dreadnought. I'd drop it and use the points to beef up your aspiring champs, take an extra terminator, and perhaps improve your HQ character. It also means your opponent's railguns and lascannons are going to lack any decent vehicle targets, and become somewhat of a waste.

If you going to take vehicles, take 2 Dreads, or a Predator. A single dread is highly vulnerable to anti-tank weapons.

I don't like the dread, it gets shot down too easily by weapons that are poor against everything else in your army. Keep those weapons useless. 89 wounds is evil. *shudders.
