New to death guard so could anyone tell me if this sort of list would work:
HQ: lord (210pts)
with Manreaper, terminater armer, demonic essence, mark of nurgle, demonic strength,
demonic rune, nurgles rot, demonic mutation, furious charge.
Troops: (haven't got list in front of me so pionts are approx)
7 CSM with mark of nurgle, 2x plasma gun, AC with power fist, nurgles rot (173)
7 CSM with mark of nurgle, 2x plasma gun, AC with plague sword, (168 )
7 CSM with mark of nurgle,infiltrate, 1x melta, AC with power sword, deamon chains
7 csm with mark of nurgle, infiltrate, 1x melta, AC with powerfist, teleport homer
, nurgles rot, plague banner. (239)
7 plague bearers (112)
4 nurgling bases (40)
Hvy support: predator with t/l lascannon, sponson lascannons, mutated hull, parasitic
possesion, deamonic possesion. (215)
Approx 1500 pts.

get rid of the plague sword their not worth it and give him a powerweapon and then if you have the points give your aspiring champions nurgle's rot it great 5 point gift and can definitly get its points woth cause i once killed 6 guants in one turn
just edited the list to include Nurgles rot.
but plague sword sounds pretty good and its only five pionts more than a power sword.
drop it to get rot on the remaining AC?
the odd plague sord isnt bad, but it isnt brilliant either. My peronal preference when I am putting together my sons death guard is for fewer CSM squads and more demon squads, plus Heavy support is dread and defiler rather than a single pred

only reasons for the predator are 1, i had an SM annihilator laying around which i have converted.
and 2, i have never seen any one field one with all of the upgrades i've used so i thought i'd see what every one thourght.
deamons over plague marines? didn't think plagur bearers were that effective.... i suppose if you deamon bomb enough of them..... strokes beard in contemplation....
plague swd is characterfull but not overly effective; i think i'll keep it for fluff reasons if nothing else.
figure i may as well stick to the theme as much as poss
any suggestions/changes any of you can/ would make?
When they come out deamons get a to move and charge, so they won't be in the open to get shot at too much, and they have a sweet 5+ invulnerable. the deamon venom is a good thingto have when facing wraithlord and other high toughness critters.
I would adive against 2 HQs, as they model is already low as it is in any nurgle army, trading in a lord for a full Plague Marine squads is just too good to miss out on.

It is crammed full of useful things you need to know about Death Guard and the ups and downs of each unit. Plus some sample army lists as well.
your deamon host wont need the power weapon and remember he uses the st 7 of the deamon about to posses him, he probably wont get a chance to use the pw before he transforms.
also i think u can only put a plague banner in a unit of chosen witch makes them even more expensive.
nurglings i find prety useless in small numbers.
use the points to buy two meltas for the squads and deamonic st and mutation on the power weapon plague sword champs.
maybe rhinos for mobile cover for your foot sloggers.
