You may notice lack of Icon Bearers, I've never had Daemons in an army before so any advice on which units should have the Icon would be helpful.

Well, it looks solid. Good amount of troops.

Every unit capable of having an Icon Bearer should. Since they're free, might as well model and take them. Ideally, you'll hope that the infiltrating squad can survive long enough to get the Furies out, but that won't always happen. Good to have a few back up points for summoning.

    Why the Powerweapons over Powerfists?

The only thing I don't really like is the Rhinos. You already have one squad that infiltrates - why not just do that for them all? Does your league have a set of rules they always use per mission, or is it random?

We've already talked about the AC/ML thing, so I won't go into it again.

The rhino squads charge has been nuked, so give them bolters. If you want bp/ccw use infiltrate.

As Caluin says go with powerfists over power weapons everytime imho.

Furies suck. Sorry they do. Take something else. If you really want fast daemons Flesh Hounds are good. In a battle this size I don't think you need daemons at all, points are better spent on more troops.

I don't use havocs much but I would take all missile launchers if your taking tank hunter anyway. And maybe have 8 marines in that squad 6 makes them a tasty target.

I would take some long ranged anti-tank over short ranged. 2 teams of 5 CSM with lascannons are good for battles this size/

Give your Lieutenant Mark of Tzeentch if you want a sorcerer. I prefer Dark Blade (daemon weapon) on my HQ over power weapon but thats your call.

    Hope this helps

    Nice I like your combo.

With my Violators. Use Rhinos instead of Havocs. I am looking into the prospectes of Havoc thou.

I like Furies, as they are so Chaos Undivided. and are just as good as Hound of Khorne.

Powerweapons are better than powerfists. Powerfists are slow and can get your lord killed.

I like to have my lord high in iniat and strike first. as he can clear the 2" kill zone.

Not a bad build, but some things need to be addressed:

The question at hand was specifically addressing the troop squads, in which case power fist is superior in most cases.

Furies- Like impending slaughter said, they just aren't worth the points. If they were 12 points, then they would probably be worth it. The problem revolves around their staying power for one, or rather, their lack there of it. They hit hard, but against 3+ armies, they don't hit hard enough to withstand the counter attack.

Rhino problem- This has already been discussed, but one more thing to add. Presently, your army is extremely slow and caters exactly to your opponents strength- a very bad thing to be sure. For one, the only targets your opponent has for his lascannons are the rhinos. Even with the defensive buffs, they won't last long after the second round. Secondly, having only one infiltrating squad is just asking for them to be the target of assault cannons and rapid fire. Again, they won't last long either.

H.Q.- this guy is rather slow, especially for having c.c. tricks. Consider infiltrating him next to your infiltrating squad (this should be squads, but as it stands you only have one). This will get him into c.c. 2 rounds earlier. Also, he is crying out for daemonic strength, and I think he knows what he's talking about.
