Well, I'm looking into doing some chaos, bought the codex and worked this out:
---Mark of Slaanesh
---Master Crafted Plasma Pistol
---4 Chosen with Mark of Slaanesh
-----Bolt Pistol and Close Combat Weapon
---Aspiring Champion 1
---Aspiring Champion 2
I plan to replace Furious Charge with Infiltrate so I can summon the Daemonettes close to the enemy, but I'm still working on this.
Remember, being mean is bad.
Hi, here are my comments.
After an overall look, I wouldn't be able to win more than 1/5 of the game played with this army list. Sorriy, I'll explain why later.
1th : To my point of view, your lord cost too much, nearly 1/3 of your army. In small games, you should use a lieutenant. Too much daemonic gifts too. Remove the plasma pistol, you probably will never use it. Also remove daemonic essence and furious charge, as they are pretty useless in smaller games. Don't count on your lord to make you win the game, he is there to support your troops, that all. If we play for victory points, I instant-kill your lord with a lascannon and I win the game. There is something better to do with those points
2nd : Drop the chosens, they aren't that good. The whole squad is a waste of point in such a small game. If you play against imperial guard, you won't live long enough to see the end of the first turn with such small force. You need more troops, buy a 2x 6 man CC squad with infiltrate and AC with power weapon instead (142 points each squads), it will be better and you won't loose everything after the first ordinance shot.
3rd : Daemonettes : They are excellent choice. They don't cost a lot and are generaly cost-effective.
4th : In this size of games, you will often encounter dreadnoughts. What will you do against dreadnoughts ? It has more chance to kill you lord than your lord to kill it. If I remember correctly, Daemonettes have daemonic tallons, but this is not so efficient. You might want to add some heavy fire to this army.
Now those are just comments / advices, and I may be wrong. I didn't intended to be mean, I usualy speak french and I'm not fully aware if the words I use may be missunderstoods. Good luck.
CHAOS Undiv.: won 14/22 games EC: 4/7 WE: 6/9 DG: 10/15, TS: 3/7 Orks : 13/20 SM NL : 1/6 TAU: 14 of 24 IG: 3/7
I'll add my two cents to what has already been said - your army has no mobility. Everybody has to walk across the battlefield. A rhino might come in handy, particularly in a smaller game.
Well, I'll look more into stuff, this is after all the first Chaos list, but I like the idea of a small elite force....plus chances are I'll be playing Necrons, as me and my friend will be testing new armies, so I figured I'd get inot CC with the warriors and pwn with PW attacks, ignore some rules thanks to the Raturous standard.
But We'll see what happens.
I may go over it tonight.
I would say
you need more guys in the army
some cc troops with infiltrate and powerfist (necrondeath!!!!)
you might be better of getting the 2x6 Deamonnets as a 1x12 (multipliers of 6 work too :o)
that will survive longer.
can be summoned in 1 time.
and kick ass harder.
seriously, your list lacks some power. so get powerfist. much better than swords, why? cause fists hurt more
you need more guys
Bu tFists cost more points, your contradicting yourself.
Four saying get more guys, but having the get PFists means that I wasteing points, plus a PW can kill Necrons and a more satisfactory way as they strike first. It's like with my SM bike army, people tell me to get PFists, but by not getting the sergeant at all I gaet a whole extra bike.
But hopefully Some Time today I'll get the chance to shuffle some things around
Daemonettes are really amazing, but I never count on them past the first round they are summoned. Honestly, you lists works well w/ 2 six chick squads for the following reasons: 1- daemons are always best the first round they're summoned, due to the fact that they should not take any ranged fire, and they have +1 to attack. Having two squads gives you more flexibility for taking down 2 of your opponent's squads. 2- In my experience, 6 daemonettes in a 500 point game should be able to handle whatever they are attacking. Having 12 in one squad is just plain overkill. Remember, these girls are a flash in the pan to disrupt your opponent; they are not designed to withstand the counter assault, and having more than 6 usually results in lost points during the counter assault and the ranged attacks that should follow.
The only army that successfuly uses daemons in total replacement of marines is Khorne (bloodletters). This army list might actually work if you had daemons like bloodletters, who could withstand the counter-assaults.
If you want powerful models that strike the white fear in your opponent, then I strongly suggest taking bikers. They can turbo-boost, which gives them the 3+ inv save, and they have an increased toughness. I don't usually outline an entirely different squad than a player posts, but in the case, I thought it would be nice to see a squad that compares to the points you are already spending on termies. In a 500 point build, bikers fair a little better.
6x Noise Marine Bike Squad- 261
*5x Bikers- MoS, sonic blaster.
*1x A.C. Biker- MoS, power fist, sonic blaster, chaos icon
Even if you choose not to turbo-boost, this squad can really lay down the pain first round, due to the sonic blasters.
Also, consider a chaos Lt. w/ a kai gun. For 80 points, he always makes up his cost. He's a really good tool box.
Thanks for that info on the Daemonettes.
But I'm not using any termies!
I will be down grading the Lord, and probably the chosen too, but well see!
Alos, just a quick question, where in the codex can I find the rules for favored units, I found where it says how to make a unit favored (squad size) but not where it says the benefits. Thanks
