The Order of the Veiled Beguines, for all intents and purposes, appeared to be just another sub-sect of the Imperial Ecclesiarchy. Initially finding favour on the planet of Nivelles in the Segmentum Obscurus, the Order promoted faith in the Emperor, whom they called the "Minnemystik", through service for others. In a relatively short period, the Order flourished, and Abbeys were soon found in all of Nivelles' major cities. Each of these Abbeys was self contained, producing more foodstuffs and other consumables than could be used my the members there. This additional produce was gifted to the city in which the Abbey stood, for the less fortunate and needy. Before long, the Order numbered in the thousands, however, unknown to the Ecclesiarchy, the Order of the Veiled Beguines had been training a portion of their believers in the ways of warfare. It is not clear when this started, but evidence points to it being in the same short time frame as the changes in belief that lead to the Order of the Veiled Beguines harbouring a Chaos Cult devoted to the worship of Slaanesh. Perhaps most distressing of this turn of events, is the ease with which the Cult gained control of Nivelles as a whole, and the speed at which the manufactoriums began churning out arms and armour for their own use. After 5 years of production, the forges fell silent, and the Order dispursed out into the galaxy, each Abbey of the Order of the Veiled Beguines sufficiently equipped to begin the corruption of yet another Imperial world. Exterminatus was declared for Nivelles, and is now a lifeless husk, through the use of the Inquisition's cyclonic torpedoes and virus bombs. It is unclear how many Abbeys were launched on their dark crusade, but it is fortunate that the typical Abbey has a relatively small number of trained troops. This results in each confrontation being more of a skirmish than a full battle. Whether this will remain true as each Abbey becomes more established or not, is yet to be seen.
Why does GW not have a decent selection of generic female miniatures? Until they do release some, it seems that this list will remain a potential army, since I have very little in the way of modelling skills and not much more talent for conversions.
The fluff behind the list is very loosely based on a group of women from central europe about ad1200-1300, with of course a chaosy streak added.
Anyway, opinions and comments are welcome
